This is a really nice bike. The thread is the other way around so that the thread opens when it hits something. If it wasn't like that, the thread would break. Thanks for the video. 👍
Gotta be careful with steel bolts and aluminium threads on the bars. The threads will strip really easily as the aluminium is really soft. Those set screw bolts will be hardened steel and will chew the thread out if you over tighten them. That’s why we use torque wrenches.
Doubletake mirrors on my DR650 was the best upgrade I could make. I could not see around my shoulders with the pitiful stock mirrors. The new mount looks slimmer than the old style I have. I got the locks for mine, that way someone can't just unscrew that handle and walk off with them. The price was worth it for the piece of mind.
Same here, stock mirrors were too narrow and low. The new mounts are slimmer and lighter, yes. But kinda ugly? Didn't know about the locks, sadly. Sounds like a good investment 👍
🤣 don't care what anyone says, I found this enjoyable.. " keep living in the real world, Papi" lmao. Love your channel, mang @doubletakemirrors. I'm buying your product cuz of this channel 😆
Dude you got there in the end thats all that matters. Let us know how the angle is on them and can you see better out of them compared to the standard ones? Are yiu going to fit a rear rack on yours too? When i say rack i mean a small one as apposed to a big one with panniers attached?
Yes, well today on my first ride with them I discovered that I forgot to attach the handguard on the left and in the wrong place (below the washer) on the right 😂 more hilarity ensued! As for racks, I'm going to try with just bags first, to keep the weight down. But I did order some cheap and tiny plates from AliExpress. We'll see 👍
Forgot to say if you haven't got any bags yet try Kriega bags I've got a 10ltr a 20ltr and a backpack and a sling bag. They are awesome but expencive. I use them in my mt09 and they work real well. I attach the straps under the seat and use them for carrying extra stuff to work and what not. You may already have one though I don't know.
@TalkTheRide also forgot to ask you what did you make of the world raid tenere was it a bit too much on the heavy side? It's also not quite as high as the extreme is it?
I have bought some Rhinowalk and Lomo bags, so I think I'm covered fur now. I do have a Kriega backpack that is very well built, it's too small for me , sadly(!).
No you're not missing anything, I just forgot to flip the camera back up after I took off the original mirror 😁 so the video was upside down. I flipped some of the clips back around in post. Forgot some, too 😁
Enjoyed the video and got a chuckle out of it. Keep those videos coming!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙏👍😊 More to come!

Thanks for the video. 👍
Good tip, I just found out when the wind rotated my left mirror 😁

Yes, in a side by side comparison that's exactly what I thought. Way less nimble and less legroom. But more stable on the highway, felt very solid 👍
Theres no need to change anything on the bike before it breakes. Apart from the exhaust.
Agreed, the akra is coming soon 👍
Beer helps installation. 🍺
🤣
😁
mirror clips facing different directions. 5:40-8:20. is it normal or am i missing somethin else?
