Slaughter Beach, Dog began as a cure for writer's block -- an outlet for Jake Ewald (of Modern Baseball) to experiment with styles that didn't fit within the well-defined territory of his former project. Ewald quickly discovered a talent for this format and penned a collection of conversational tunes that float between folk, indie, punk and alternative rock. His ability to isolate and compile daily human interactions give vibrancy and value to these otherwise mundane experiences. Check out the performance by Slaughter Beach, Dog on Audiotree Live.

@@CriticsConfession Oh WHAT! I saw Luther open up for Against Me! the day of my senior year of high school in 2013 and haven't forgotten about them. They were so good.
@@AyoWayo Yeah, Luther was a total underrated gem, and they had backing from some pretty big acts too, like Against Me!. I actually happened to catch their last show in this super tiny bar on the boardwalk in Jersey. Pretty sure that Nick was a roadie for The Menzingers at some point too.
This recording of 104 Degrees is pretty much my favorite thing.

No, Audiotree needs to update their recording equipment and their editing capabilities. they make a lot of bands that actually sound good live, sound like absolute dogshit.
like, take a look at Sugar Shack Sessions. their recording is phenomenal.
So im sitting here thinking “man its been a few years, i hope mobo is coming out with something soon”... i had no damn clue they’re not even together anymore.
Thumbs up, but sigh. Such sad news. Been years now. But this project has really grown on me. I hope the other former members of mobo are doing well.
I actually dig this so much. I'm a huge fan of Modern Baseball, and I really enjoy and relate to the youthful sound that they have/had, but I also just highly appreciate how much Jake and his music have matured as well.
Absolutely psyched to see that the bassist from MoBo is also in this band. Both talented musicians.

Ian is such a good bassist! He always seems so happy and just vibing no matter if he is playing an intricate bass part or just something super basic. You can really tell he enjoys it.

Don't know these guys from a doorknob.....but they were so amazing that when I heard them on World Café on NPR, I had to find them......the lead vocal guy has such a Lou Reed vibe that it is painful...….love them.

This is a really delayed response, but there is an audiotree far out session of him singing Acolyte. If you haven't seen it you should, look it up its so good! I like it better than the album version of acolyte!

love this. just listened to the studio recording of the album for the first time after watching things, and this sounds better. it really captures the vibe of their songs well

Same... met him back in November at his set in Atlanta, real down to earth. Even got him to sign a set list Ian had laying on stage! best night of my life (after the front bottoms concert i went to 3 days before meeting him)

Mobo's on an break for an unknown amount of time, they just had some "farewell" shows in Philly. This is Jake's own project.
Yeah, Jake and Ian are working on Slaughter Beach, Dog though it is more of a Jake project and they both work at a recording studio in Philly. Brendan is doing a string of shows with other artists, and Sean started a band named Steady Hands

lanzaa yes zack played drums in superheaven, both jake and ian (bass) played in modern baseball and guitar player who’s name i forget has filled in for balance and composure.
