1. Pull of 150 N is required to move a wooden block weighing 500 N resting on a horizontal rough surface. Find the co-efficient of friction between block and surface in contact.
2. A block of 10 kN is resting on a horizontal surface. Find out effort required to move this block if coefficient of friction is 0.2.
3. A block is resting on a horizontal surface. Effort required to move this block is 40 N and Co efficient of friction is 0.2. Find out weight of block.
4. Pull of 150 N inclined at 60ᵒ to the horizontal is required to move a wooden block weighing 500 N resting on a horizontal rough surface. Find the co-efficient of friction between block and surface in contact.
5. A block resting on horizontal surface is moved with pull of 150 N inclined at 25° with surface. The same block is required to push with 190 N at the 25° with surface. Find the co-efficient of friction and weight of block.
6. A block of 200 N is resting on a surface. Surface is inclined at 30° with horizontal. Co-efficient of friction is 0.25, find out the effort required to pull the block parallel to surface.
7. A block of 10 N is resting on a surface. Surface is inclined at 30° with horizontal. Co-efficient of friction is 0.25, find out the effort required to pull the block parallel to surface.
8. A force of 1200 N is applied parallel to the surface to move a body upwards on an inclined surface. The slope of the surface is 15°. When the slope of the surface is reduced to 12°, a force of 1050 N has to be applied. Find the weight of the body and coefficient of friction.
