How it was made

Promt"-The excitement of starting a new journey"
I imagined a story/scenario that was interesting to me, that fit the promt of the challenge. As this was not a score to picture challenge i needed something to latch on to. I cant write music if i dont know what to tell with it.
-Something happens to the hero, which motivates him to go on an exciting journey.
-At first he is overcome with naive joy and excitement. (part 1 of the arrangement)
-Then he catches himself makes some sense of it and starts to prepare and pack his things. "There is so much to do. This and that. I also nee to ..."
Movie wise it would switch to a montage here. he prepares deep into the night to get ready. (part 2 of the arrangement)
Arrangement and orchestration:
With the idea layed out i just wrote down some notes on what i associate with the different parts of the idea.
-excitement - driving rythm
- happiness - major key, rising melodies ostinati, violin and woodwinds
-"There is so much to do. This and that. I also nee to ..." - call response. basically a self conversation.
-Movement using key changes from D to F, back and forth.
-so that there was no feeling of stopping during the piece i used half cadences until the very end.
for part 1 i used the sentence form as it has more forward drive in my optinion. whereas for part 2 i used the period form for the call and response type arrangement since our hero has not yet set out on the journey.
