Starting a journey

Submission for Tabletopcomposer's Competition about: " The excitement of starting a new journey"
I wanted to capture the feeling of just beginning a journey. So much is still unknown. The Hero does not know what awaits him and is eager to start his journey.
I did an orchestral arrangement.
I wrote the piece in a major key to capture the happy feeling. However there is almost no chord progression. It remains for the most part on one chord and only changes chords for the last few bars. This raises the tension and anticipation and represents the moments before the journey starts. At the end the journey truly beginns. It doesn't end on the I-chord, so one can feel that there is much more to come. The middle part is a little slower to show a little bit of melancholy, because the hero leaves his known hapitat
The piece is in a quick pace to raise the energy. A lot of staccato for the same reason. The melody contains a lot of jumps with 4ths and 5ths for the heroic touch.
I used a lot of piano because it's timbre is neutral and doesn't have so much emotions and expectations attached to it. Which is good for telling a story about unknown lands.

This is a great piece! I loved the fun ideas you came up with for telling the story. I was skeptical about your idea to stick to just one chord for most of the piece at first, but it worked really well! Excellent job :)
