  • (~a cinematic ambient piece blending relaxing piano with a lush, summer forest ambience~)
Miko and Rumi settle along the banks of the River Yeokir, its stream rustled by the wild and windy day.
The trees here hide the estates they had just walked from, nothing but a patch of untouched nature surrounding them now: exactly how Vinnive often is.
“This river felt so much busier back in Gladiolus,” Miko says, raising her legs to avoid the splashing stream. “Here it’s more like… a friend? Like a friend trying to tell me a story almost.”
“I haven’t heard that one before. Did you get that from some old book?”
“A-About this District, yeah. A tourist brochure for Dandelion I once read. It was just bragging about this ‘new side of the River Yeokir’, humanising it, really. It’s more than the lifeline of this District, it’s a guardian of sorts.”
“Lovely. Just lovely I think-it sounds like what a resident of Dandelion would write.”
Rumi gazes down the river, her eyes tracking a flock of pigeons soaring from treetop to treetop.
“Ooh, the Indigo Pigeon… that thing’s native to Eastern Muuninrae. A sign of luck as some would say.”
“You speak like it’s rare-that’s the fifth flock I’ve seen since we’ve sat down.”
“R-Rarity is geographic! I hear the ecosystem around here is just a bit more preferable for them… same reason so many move here from the city centre.”
Smiling, Rumi flicks a pebble into the river, the currents washing it downstream.
“A slice of paradise here in Muuninrae is all some people really need. What do you think, Miko? You think there’s a chance we can buy a mansion here too someday?”
“A-A mansion? Do we really need that much space?”
“Heh, think about it-we get our own studies, gardens, officers, so many rooms to store whatever in. And we can feel like a couple of princesses while we’re at it.”
A couple of Princesses. They’ve joked about it, but to commit to such an act in real life?
If even this little river in the forest can put Miko at ease, then she has no urgent need for grandeur.
    “I’ll pass. Even a small home would do-as long as you’re there~”

Second listen now, feels like it got even better. Love the quiet little punch this one packs! ❤
