❓❓❓❓❓❓❓So you mean to tell me they can bring Robert Downey Jr. back,, but they still Can’t make a Blade movie? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 They can bring Robert Downey Junior (Iron Man) back from the dead,, to play a different different character. But they can’t recast T-Chala 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Still no black lead marvel film? Still No Blade movie? This is ridiculous 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 But not surprising. It most be really hard to make a black lead movie,, where the black man is in power. But Even if they did make a blade movie,, they probably would make blade a Simp for most of the movie,, or blade would Playing second fiddle to another (let’s say) character. It’s funny how Marvel can justify recasting characters. They can recast General Ross. But they cannot recast to T-Chala/King of Wakanda/Black Panther. How many years ago was Blade announced? It’s Absolutely hilarious and sad.
My take is we legit have no idea what role RDJ will play in any of this. We don’t know if he’s playing a variant, if he’s gonna be the “main” Doom. NO IDEA so just to jump and say it’s ruined it’s over JUST WAIT AND SEE.
This gonna make them so much money it's genius UNFORTUNATELY even if we dont love it we love RDJ he's arguably why it became what it became and we are all going to rush for the new avengers because of him
At first I rejected it but then I found out about the comic where they switch bodies. It's obvious why it's controversial but if people just inform themself instead of blindly complaining they wouldn't have so much of a problem.
You know these assholes at Disney are just going to say he's a Tony Stark from an alternate universe who went evil and calls himself Doctor doom instead of Iron man
Perhaps and maybe perhaps RDJ is a sort of Dr. Doom variant. I kinda find it hard to believe that he needs to return to the MCU for the money instead of focusing in other movie projects. It's a big surprise, even I didn't expect but wouldn't it be suitable if he returned as a Tony Stark/Iron Man variant instead? Just my opinion. He's a talented and successful actor, I think he'll do a good job as Victor Von Doom. What an amazing and unexpected development! Let's hope it pays off Marvel/Disney needs to deliver better movies and content for its loyal fanbase otherwise this ship will sink like the titanic. Thanks for the video, much success and keep up the good work.
Was honestly at the edge of my seat when I saw the title "Avengers: Doomsday" appear on my screen since Dr. Doom is one of my all-time favourite comic villains, such an interesting, menacing, and complex character. There were so many ideas racing through my mind when they said that they had "the perfect actor chosen for this role", and when the mask was taken off and I saw RDJ I almost punched my screen. RDJ is one of the most iconic CBM actors, and he had a legedary and fitting ending in the Endgame, the though of using the same actor for two different characters seems desperate and downright disrespectful to Iron Man's legacy in the MCU. In my mind Cillian Murphy would have been an amazing fit for this role, along others. Marvel knew the deep trench they were in, and they knew that the sheer sight of RDJ would raise the hype and interest into Marvel and their upcoming projects, but at what cost? However there is nothing I can do now except for pray that they don't ruin Iron Man's legacy and decimate Dr. Doom's character at the same time.
Im ok with this under one condition. It is not the infamous iron man. RDJ is an incredible actor with a lot of range, and I'm sure that he could kill this role. What concerns me isnt the casting itself, its the potential connection with Iron Man. If they try to make Doom this Tony Stark variant, its just a waste of the character. They need to do him justice and explore him in all of his nuances and complexities. We can have some internal conflict from Peter, but we don't need the character to genuinely be an alternate Tony Stark, in the same way that Johnny Storm isnt an alternate Captain America. Just let the casting be an easy way to make money, and don't try and make it an essential part of the story.
RDJ is old short and frail. Dr Doom is physically imposing and an extremely handsome man. People constantly miss the point of Dr Doom as a character. No he is not just an “evil Iron Man”.
You are correct. He is not an evil Iron Man. I do not want an evil Iron Man. Downey is a chameleon when he is acting. He can dissapear into any character that he is playing. People seem to forget his talent due to the fact that he played hinself for ten years with Iron Man. If he works out a little bit and gets an amazing looking costume, downey will be great in the role. Besides, Doom barely takes off his mask, and when he does, he is horribly disfigured. People will certainly be able to tell that it is Downey, but it will not be distracting to the point of ppl still viewing him as Iron Man. I just want an authentic Doctor Doom rather than an Iron Man variant, as Secret Wars is maybe my favourite doom storyline ever.
@@brandonfly4611 Dr Doom is not disfigured. He only has a small scar on his face. Jack Kirby even confirmed it. People don’t understand Dr Doom. Dr Doom sees himself as the perfect man. He sees himself as the perfect physical fighter, the perfect scientist and the perfect magician. The small scar on his face shows he is not perfect and he insecurely hides it behind a mask and hood because of it. Doom is an attractive man behind the mask but his perfectionism doesn’t make him see it. RDJ does not capture the “ideal man” Doom is as a character. He is a frail short 60 year old man.
So many people getting back into Marvel because of this yet i as someone who liked or loved most of phase 4 and 5 have cancelled my tickets for Deadpool and Wolverine, and might never watch an MCU product again, they are completely clueless and so is anyone who thinks this is a good casting, bringing back RDJ makes the infinity saga worse as the main character of it has his arc weakened, it ruins the multiverse Saga because they clearly haven't prepared for this and weverything so far is less significant, and completely wastes the main villain of all of Marvel by using as an opportunity to get attention instead of telling the right story, casting a mediocre choice for Doom who has many distractions and baggage is a pathetic casting
if RDJ is a not variant maybe he’ll end up at universe 616 and then people will think that iron man is alive or what, he will used that power or situation to get back at the avengers and defeat them
There are so many other talented, actors that could make this role iconic, Mads Mikkelsen is who i would've chosen. I feel like a lot of people are lost in the high off of this shock announcement, because they like the idea omg Tony's friends ate gonna be so shocked and heartbroken, when the power of this reveal works better waiting to show it in the actual film. That way, the audience can experience the shock along with the heroes. This feels like it was only done, just to have a darth vader reveal moment. Darth Vader's revelation to Luke only worked, because the audience hears it with Luke, we experience the shock at the same time. If everyone knew that Vader was Luke's father before the character did, it wouldn't have that same power as experiencing the horror firsthand, with the protagonist. No doubt that the avengers will all have a "😱😭💔" moment, that's to be expected. It would've been so much better of they kept the identity a secret, and we discover it with the protagonists. I love RDJ as well, but why couldn't we have the REAL DR. DOOM, instead of a variant?🤦🏻♂️. I'm hoping THE REAL DOOM shows up, and looks at RDJ Doom, and says something like...."You're kind of like me, but inferior. There are no pretenders, only DOOM."
Honestly if the fantastic 4 is from a different universe coming over to the MCU I can actually see why Robert Downey Jr playing Doom would be just a variant that looks like tony stark instead of him being actual tony stark if that makes sense?
He's not really a stark variant. Or he might be a loosely associated variant. Here's the thing, my wishful theory is that they are creating a hybrid between victor backstory and a hint of stark.
It's only controversial to the fans who just watch the movies/shows and don't read the comics. But they did 2 story lines where Tony Stark becomes Dr Doom when Tony was in college, he was roommates with Doom and he tricked Tony to help create a device that would swap there minds and Doom would become Tony Stark
So here’s the problem 1 of the questions is who else can play Doctor doom other than RDJ. There’s quite a few candidates, Oppenheimer he seems 2 have that coldness that Doom has and can pull off a cruel villain. If they wanna go a fanservice route why not Julian from the 2005 Fantastic 4 movies, have him reprise his role if Wolverine can come back as a variant y not RDJ as a Tony stark variant then, if Deadpool and Wolverine can bring back older actors 2 reprise they’re roles such as Wesley’s blade, Jennifer’s Electra hell even Chris Evan’s Johnny storm which is the same version from Julian’s doom universe why not bring him back 2 be Doom again? This move with RDJ being doom seems like a desperate move outta they’re hand 2 get old fans back that originally quit the MCU or took a break and this is coming from someone who was there when Iron man 1 was released.
The talking points about it feeling desperate isn’t really going to mean anything to the general movie goer. The movie will live and die by how good the movie is
I was exaggerating an instance in my mind thar RDJ doing the arm opening pose and shitting in his pant at the same time...with the watery shit sound 😂😂
The ONLY way this makes sense is that DOOM used his sorcery magic 🪄 mind control and switched body’s with Tony who became superior Iron Man while he’s been gone!💯
I don’t care what others think, it’s canon in the comics and it’s a massive move that can help correct the MCU. They don’t see the potential in this move they just wine about it instead.
Extremely desperate. Not even kind of, like SUPER desperate. Also Russo Bros kinda desperate as well. Their other films post Endgame haven’t done well. Not excited, I’m confused and a little like Scooby doo Huh?!?! Kinda lame. Desperation all around.
As long as it's really Victor Von Doom and not a Tony Stark variant who becomes Doom, I'm good. Please, just give us the real Doom origin story and then go from there. I would sell my soul for a 6 episode Books of Doom series.
Y'all gotta stop acting up. As long as they don't revive the Tony that we knew, they can actually cook something crazy. There's a thing called Infamous Ironman which is a variant of Tony Stark that becomes Doom. They could simply be merging Doom and Iron Man in to one in order to simplify things and mayhaps even make the BIGGEST parallel in cinema franchise history. Seeing the legacy of Tony clash with the visions of corrupted version of Tony can make for a conclusive event that can definitely top Endgame. though the one thing missing here is the 10+ years worth of build-up. But hey only time will tell, all I'm saying is that this doesn't have to be the worst thing ever.
I didn't even like RDJ as Ironman cuz it's ironman and RDJ but The 2005 Fantastic Four movie had a better Dr. Doom than This already. Should have been someone else.
I'm a little concerned that they're not gonna successfully seperate RDJ and Iron Man to Doom. As of right now, nobody sees RDJ as Doom, so hopefully when the time comes they're able to successfully do it. RDJ has the acting chops to pull it off, so I guess it's all up to the script to give Doom an actual good adaptation. Also I'm really hoping they're not pulling some stupid Stark variant shit, Doom needs to be Victor. Another thing is, I hope they don't milk RDJ'S face. Keep him disfigured, give him the mask 24/7.
I bet he's gonna play a tony stark variant that's doctor doom and it will only be for doomsday and secret wars, and then the real doctor doom that will be in the fantastic four universe will come out, if not in the first fantastic four movie. I really hope I'm correct, I like the idea of rdj playing doom, but not the mainline doom.
I love RDJ. He is the GOAT. But to have him become Dr Doom is stupid. I feel like it ruins the impact he did in endgame. It’s obvious a cash grab imo. If Disney wanted to have an RDJ/ Tony Stark like character, they should have hired Johnny Depp to be Dr Doom, just have him be a Tony Stark impersonator. Familiar but different. But I think it would have been 100x better if RDJ played as Uncle Ben to a Peter Parker variant that looks like Tom Holland.
It's controversial because fans will have to pretend that they are not looking at Tony Stark. It's the entire reason this never-ending MCU was always a mistake. They should have rebooted into an MCU2 after _End Game_ and began a new story. Actors get old. They move on. But now we get an MCU where Tony Stark and Doom are the same dude.
I would like if that Tony and the avengers lost the battle with thanos. Tony survives and the rest of the avengers die or survive. Tony looses Pepper and Morgan. Tony will become hopeless and will become dr doom. He kills thanos but nothing good comes out of it. Kind of like the Nightmare timeline that Zack Snyder envisioned in DC.
I don’t know who but not RDJ. It feels like all those Animated movies that cast untalented Actors over and over like Kevin and The Rock. Not that RDJ is untalented.

I reserve judgement of all casting choices, because we were all shocked by Heath Ledger as the Joker.. and look how that turned out.
I think even originally RDJ was not taken seriously and he turned out to be the most beloved actor in the entire series..
So.. who knows what will happen with a great actor if put in great writing and directorial hands.
This gonna make them so much money it's genius UNFORTUNATELY even if we dont love it we love RDJ he's arguably why it became what it became and we are all going to rush for the new avengers because of him
I'm surprised he hasn't been on the cover of AARP magazine yet.
Only poor people like you think having "certain amount of money is enough" lol. This is easy money for RDJ and he's going to save MCU's box office.
It shows how lazy marvel is and unimaginative. This is stupid. LUKE EVANS would have been a better choice
Evidence? This has precedence in the comics. Stop speaking about things you have no knowledge about
@@samuelforce7883 that's besides the point. Still lazy
@@theharbinger00 why? It's a marketing decision and a smart one that isn't pulled out of their ass. That's the point.
I was so hyped idk why everyone else isnt. Rdj is a great actor and they have great writers and directors as well. Avengers 5 and 6 is gonna be epic.
"Who else would you want other than RDJ to play this villain?" LITERALLY ANYONE ELSE!
Well, you know what they say, beggars can’t be choosers.
He's playing a character from a different Earth, not bringing back Iron Man from the dead a making him evil. How hard is it for people to understand
Schwarzenegger should be Doom. If he was younger
So many people getting back into Marvel because of this yet i as someone who liked or loved most of phase 4 and 5 have cancelled my tickets for Deadpool and Wolverine, and might never watch an MCU product again, they are completely clueless and so is anyone who thinks this is a good casting, bringing back RDJ makes the infinity saga worse as the main character of it has his arc weakened, it ruins the multiverse Saga because they clearly haven't prepared for this and weverything so far is less significant, and completely wastes the main villain of all of Marvel by using as an opportunity to get attention instead of telling the right story, casting a mediocre choice for Doom who has many distractions and baggage is a pathetic casting
if RDJ is a not variant maybe he’ll end up at universe 616 and then people will think that iron man is alive or what, he will used that power or situation to get back at the avengers and defeat them
What If? Volume 9, Issue #1 from 2010. That's what they are going to do.
He’s in GTA V as Cara Delevigne not Dr. Doom. He’s wearing her enchantress form like clothes over his suit.
Well, they basically said screw making sense, let’s just go crazy until we drain the well dry.
They made doom into a stark variant 😭
We don't really know that yet. They could go down that route or they could keep him as Victor Von Doom, we do not know their plans yet.
He's not really a stark variant. Or he might be a loosely associated variant.
Here's the thing, my wishful theory is that they are creating a hybrid between victor backstory and a hint of stark.
@@funkysam1345Any of that sounds awful. We wanted DOOM, not some multiverse bs excuse to bring back RDJ. This is a complete failure of a cast.
He's not a Stark variant. The Russos announced him as Victor Von Doom.
@@WereSquatch^
Bryan Cranston hmmmm...., that is a good idea Lewis.
Too old. Maybe could work if he was 10 or 15 years younger.
I think he can do it
Would rather see him back as iron man instead this is ass lil bro
@@andrewhall9330 noooooooooo! Don't underestimate
Getting a chance to play the biggest hero AND villain is a chance no actor would pass up
to be fair, thanos was also only in 2 movies, And some after credit scenes (and few lines in GoG)
The talking points about it feeling desperate isn’t really going to mean anything to the general movie goer. The movie will live and die by how good the movie is
Rdj is a great actor and was amazing as ironman but i dont want him as doom. Now doom will be joking around and have his mask off not the real doom.
I was exaggerating an instance in my mind thar RDJ doing the arm opening pose and shitting in his pant at the same time...with the watery shit sound 😂😂
Terrible idea. Should have been Kang.
Exactly.
I can’t see myself not being distracted by him even if they keep his character the same.
This will either be really good or really bad
Marvel presents Marvel’s “What Fi…” what if Tony Stark became Dr. Doom
As long as it's really Victor Von Doom and not a Tony Stark variant who becomes Doom, I'm good. Please, just give us the real Doom origin story and then go from there. I would sell my soul for a 6 episode Books of Doom series.
Wait, he's playing Dr Doom in an avengers movie? I thought it was a F4 movie. Robert Downey Jr in an avengers movie is just weird
while I love this casting I can understand why it is so controversial
Wym he’s basically playing the evil magic version of tony stark.. no one else fits the role better than he does 🫶🏼💯
Y'all gotta stop acting up.
IT IS RDJ playing Victor Von Doom.
It is NOT Tony Stark becoming Doctor Doom...
There is no way to not see it as Tony Stark becoming Dr. Doom. No matter what story they try to tell.
@@HercuLyncwhat? he barely takes off his mask any ways and they announced themselves that he’s playing von doom
I’m so excited for dr doom in mcu 🔥
I bet he's gonna play a tony stark variant that's doctor doom and it will only be for doomsday and secret wars, and then the real doctor doom that will be in the fantastic four universe will come out, if not in the first fantastic four movie. I really hope I'm correct, I like the idea of rdj playing doom, but not the mainline doom.
Aaaaaand they also completely whitewashed the character. If they did that with a black character the world would be in shambles.
Ngl Cilian Murphy is the call for Dr doom
This is the mcu equialant of the finger poke of doom
Hey man, this can easily work and be amazing or it will fail and be a bad look. We will see, but im definitely gonna let them cook
HE IS MEANT TO BE THE FREAKING FINAL BIG BAD OF THIS SAGA! He should be his own character, not just evil ironman!
@@MartinMarsano Yes but RDJ is playing a Tony Stark variant. This is what I would like to have as a backstory for Tony Stark that turns into Dr Doom.
I Love RDJ But I Want Cillian Murphy As Dr Doom & I Loved A Scene Of Cillian Murphy Dr Doom Cs RDJ'S Iron Man
I don’t know who but not RDJ. It feels like all those Animated movies that cast untalented Actors over and over like Kevin and The Rock. Not that RDJ is untalented.
