    Da man! If it wasn’t for your contribution back to the community I would be only focusing on work without having a life. I am now part of a b2b chapter here at The Netherlands and we try to skate every Friday! ✊🏾

    I thought you said you weren't very good at tutorials?! That was really good, have been learning and struggling with farvs etc for a while now, really looking forward to trying some of these ideas and progressions, great stuff!

    Thanks heaps Law! I have the Mizu but the balance was hard for me, but I am 51 years young and only been at the skate park for 15 months but your other tutorial and this one explaining how to tilt my knee over and stretch out my trailing leg and put more weight on it was exactly what I needed to hear so thanks heaps, 1 and a half weeks and I can Mizu my new 3 meter practice rail. Just in case you cant tell I'm very proud of myself. Also the Frontside and Backside have helped me so much, every time before I try new grinds I do them for 15 mins and I feel like I can do Mizu and soul so so much easier. Lastly you are exactly right again because in the last two days because of the Mizu and your advice the soul grind was so easy and I can tell they are unlocking others. Thanks again and please keep up these tutorials cause I love them!!! Cant wait to try these other grinds just so I can get to the well named Backside Farvegnugen!!!

    Your idea helped me a lot in the past. I think you mentioned modifying an acid soul to get to a unity. With that new mindset I was able to get good at unities for the first time.

    I hate and love top souls.. you got me inspired today, specially because I saw how to fall if I miss my back foot on a top soul

    I Love to see you learning tricks it gives me a lot of courage and you are motivating me so much.
    When you explain and try it feels real...I mean I like to see crazy skaters doing monster trucks but it is so far from what I do.
    Great work man...keep rocking...you doing a lot for our sport

    Open your hips and the front foot will be a lot easier to get perpendicular to the grind edge for back farv. I'd practise head on stalls on your box more for the top torque soul, and try to land with both feet joined together with weight pretty equal. Top torque requires good external rotation of hips and strong quads to get low enough for them to work. I don't really think they can work of you are not pretty squat. So I agree that strength and flexibility are key. Do you remember that back slide grooves used to be closer to the heel? I always imagine my heel leading my toes when trying torque. Of course, royale is opposite, toes slightly lead heels

    I've been skating since 95' and I have always had a problem with topside torque souls. Watching this helped clarify body position

    • @BacktoBlading
      @BacktoBlading  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely not an expert at that trick, as the bruises on my hips will prove. But maybe my struggle helped a bit. Thanks for watching

    I'd recommend some light elbow pads too if your going to be riding ramps. Ramp burn sucks and you will skin your elbows

    Hey thank you so much for these great lessons, for the research and the amount of work! About the last torque trick, I think you are doing something wrong with your body placement, maybe the 45 angle is not the right choice here. On the last ones you locked with success, it seems you are correcting your position with your left arm during the slide, as if you need to facing more the direction of the grind. It's just an observation watching the video so maybe I'm wrong, but seeing your left arm movement I feel you should investigate on it!

    Thanks for the video, super helpful! I Mizu a lot, it’s deffo my safety trick, and a very experienced blader recommend I try a back farv cos my Mizu is already pretty turned out. However, I haven’t learned how to backside a ledge first. Do you think I should learn that first? Or is front farv better to learn first seeing as I can frontside? I feel like front farv isn’t really anything like a Mizu.

    • @BacktoBlading
      @BacktoBlading  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they’re two different tricks. Backsides are much harder, more commitment

    Great content as always Law. Do you think the groove-boot angle is a big deal in farvs like it is for royales? I mean, in a lot of ways it’s a royale going the other way right?

    • @BacktoBlading
      @BacktoBlading  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sure! But unfortunately I don’t have a lot of “non-straight” boot groove to test. The Mesmer seem like a good option though.

    Seems I do all these tricks the same way as you except back unity. That would be switch for me using this progression. Might have to focus on the torque foot and just learn it switch xD

    • @BacktoBlading
      @BacktoBlading  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      See if you can do the back unity that way, give it 5 tries for your buddy Law and resort back :)

      What would you consider a great set then? I agree I just got back first time breaking them in and I dk something feels off.. I dk if it’s the bulkiness or the frame length.. I got fluid v frames too.
