I think that Yuko is actually good because, in tournaments of this level, it's difficult to even throw someone onto their stomach, so every small score is valuable.
@@JudoHighlights2015 I don't think you need to worry about that because even if one fighter would just settle for yuko, the other could as easily nullify it with their own yuko, which encourages both to go for a higher score. That's what it was back in the days. Wins by yukos are still a lot better than by shidos, which is what the previous system was promoting.
@@m.l.1234 This is really worth a (neverending) discussion😉 In my times, about 30 years ago, koka, yuko... pretty a mess. A mess for everyone. Hard for the referee to see & judge. And hard for the sportsman, who often is confronted with "unfair" judgements. I know, how I landed - the referee only believes, what he meant, that he saw. I would say: the less scores, the less problems.
@ChungkingExpress1996 you could say the same thing about the old koka and yuko. But we moved away from that system because people were only playing for small scores. "Koka judo" was a real problem back then.
(9:11) ... what a beauty ! Yes ... there are others great ippons .. but this kouchi-makikomi is something ... I watched many times the white Japanese judoka's hand work ... and then the explosion of the technique!! And one hand ura-nage slam (9:32) WOW ! The newaza from (11:53) it is outstanding ... masterclass! Yes ... Kondo's style and the rotation of Vellozzi followed by newaza too ! Great video as always come from you .... t'il next time I would say ... cheers !
Babulfath didn’t win bronze in -48 on shidos. She won on two Yuko at end of time. She also used the same turnover with gripping around the leg and rolling opponent over backwards as the japanese. Looks like an uncomfortable way to be held 😅.
I like that wild celebration after winning is being prevented Let's keep this sport classy. Although because it can't be implemented, it is just a burden on the referee
White won, and here is why: blue made a strong attack, but white countered it, he stayed strong on his legs, and, what is very important, he made an action of his own to counter blue and threw him on his back. You can clearly see the moment when blue is defeated. What happened afterwards, white rolling on this own back is of no importance since the ippon is clear (and if you imagine a concrete floor instead of tatamis, you can undertand why, even if those kinds of comparison are not very relevant as Judo is here just a sport, and outside the competition just a system of education). If blue hadn't been thrown so well, a waza-ari would have been called, and then white would have had to protect himself from blue because the fight could have continued.
Yuko are amazing,no more BS wazari, great video great day 1 what an amazing bunch of champions and throws, inspirational Cannot wait to come back and compete again with the new rules I have my first tournament after so many years for my category M3,the date is the 2 of march, cannot wait to tell you how badly they are going to beat me but i'm still going to have fun😂 Thank you for these video I learn so much!

Yeah I have the same opinion, I just hope people don’t try to build a game plan around it.

@@LeightonsLibrary Yes, this is also a good point.

No matter how many yukos you get they will not beat a waza-ari. The need to push for big throws will always be there. The yuko does not change that.
All in all, good judo!!! Thanks for covering this.
I think new judo rules are cool, but i miss one more thing: leg grabs.
Tajima is a beast

Big mistake!

Yuko will prevent long dragged out golden scores ending on shidos
Interfering Referees is bad for the audience - for which turnaments should be done.
Yeah I 100% agree
As someone who is just a spectator and not a practitioner, it is hard for me to understand who won at 4:25 .

Is upper thigh grabbing not allowed in this comp?
You can do it
It would be more exciting for 2 yukos = 1 wazari, but it would be best for leg grabs to.come back
Mammadaliev took the bronze at -73. He threw Kvantidze in the next exchange with a Tani-Otoshi I'm pretty sure
