four aganist darkness work well with Pocketlands overland adventure rules (has a conversion table in the back). I combine both of their rule sets (new and old),for a balanced form of a map crawl.I just started using "tales from the adventures guild",which someone has alredy posted about ,which has rules for with only 1-3 characters , and used it have a new character set off for the first time by themselfs to join the adventures guild in the next settlement to find adventure and make new friends.

@@GeekGamers01 What I've done is buit a pre-encounter system. So default enemies would be 1-3 or 1-4. But if I roll a 4-5 I'd use something from fiendish foes or warlike woes. Also, I tend to add the level of my highest character to the number of minions I encounter. I want to keep it scary, the way a mythical underworld should be.

The newest book, Tales of the Adventurers Guild has a lot of content that I think you would enjoy adding to the game. On page 60, there are official rules on how to turn the game to a solo game instead of a party of for game.
These three books all go well together in helping to further expand the world: Greedy Gifts of the Guild Masters which offers a whole slew of patrons to the game and additional new rules, such as faction points, the first book to introduce faction points was Warlike Woes, which has a lot of tables for encounters that one might face on roads between towns (with most penalizing you if your resolve the encounter lethally, as you could become wanted when entering the next settlement), and my favorite of the three, Zealous Zouaves, it offers tones of new character traits and large section on knight orders and guilds for warriors to join, but the part that ties into the other books would be the section on troupe play, where your party can join what the game calls a mercanary group (but to me it feels more like something like the pathfinder's society or other such famous traveling parties, like the one on critical roll), once your group joins such group, then collectively the team earns a party skill, which everyone can use and benefit from, however, the coolest part is that a little narrative blurb is given for each troupe and it was fairly easy for me to connect these groups back to patrons or other narrative seeds from other books, such as Fortress of the Warlord.
Which brings me to Fortress, although this book is a big preprogrammed campaign, its emphasis is on the type of tale one would find in a Tolkien esque fantasy story, ie, the quest across regions. Most of the story revolves forest encounters and such and so I think you would appreciate additional outdoor encounters and they even include additional forest themed spells. Chapter one is a hex crawl that offers some neat and simple rules on how to navigate through forest terrain and make camp.
This maybe isn't what you are looking for, but one of my favorites is Digressions of the Devouring Dead. In my mind, it takes the "Basic" core rule book and turns it into AD&D 1e. The whole book is about creating necro dungeons, but there is a section on hardcore mode which turns the game into a more a realistic one, where keeping track of lantern oil and food rations become needed, and it has a lot rules on how to incorporate layers and staircases in your dungeons. These can easily be used to create abandoned wizard towers or perhaps abandoned mountain settlements carved into the side of cliffs.
The Twisted Final Fights and the Twisted Hoards book (magical items) are also great books to add in and mix well with the other twisted books you have.
I'm also a big fan of the monster card decks (there are three sets now) and not all of them are dungeon themed, persay. I know you mentioned owning some of the quest decks already, you might check into those again, too, as there are some outdoor ones that have come out in the last year, such as a swamps deck, and a roads deck where you are guarding a caravan through woods protecting it from bandits. There is also a castle raventloft themed adventure, too.
Finally, there is a big town adventure book out, something like Thieves of Diarnatia or something like that. I haven't played it, but you may look into that title to see if it sparks interest. There is also book out where you fight fungal and mushroom folk. That one is called labyrinth of the lurking something.
The Lantern zine you have has a starting town campaign meant to take starting heroes from level 1 to level 3 I believe. Perhaps that is why you purchased that book?

Thank you SO much for this incredible answer, which is exactly the kind of thoughtful and detailed response I was hoping someone would give. With the exceptions of some of the card decks you mention that I own (but failed to mention in my vid), all of the things you write are new to me and I will look them all up. I feel my wallet shrinking already *but my gameplay increasing.* I really do appreciate the time you too to think about it and reply!

@@GeekGamers01 I saw the Adventures guild is now in sc at lu lu it offers so much that I think it is right up your alley so some of things that I think you are looking to add in your games hopefully a lot of that is covered there.
I posted your video on the facebook group, but after I did I scrolled down and found that your vid had already been shared there at least 3 other times before me haha. Another one to one day look into would Court of the Undead Viscount as half of the book is a city book with a roster of gladiator themed heroes to hire into your party and then the other half of the book is a giant gladiator battle which focuses on one to one combat verse another party of 4 combatants. Its a zanny book (a parachuting paladin is one of the combatants you could face!) but as mentioned, half of it is about shop encounters, including new weapons to purchase. With this book, and the probably 20+ additional items in the Adventures guild, and town services offered in Abyss (such as hirelings), you should have plenty of info to create interesting shops and markets to visit (especially if you turn all that stuff into randomized tables).
I have pdfs and physical copies of each book. I use the physical books for play, but then I use the pdfs to copy paste to make own collection of tables to roll on combing books together. There is cite pnp arcade I think, every year they do a blck fri day thing where you can get pdfs pretty cheap. 4ad is fun playing as is but also by combining things together like a puzzle or creating your own content. For example, a working doc that I am working on is taking the 100 character traits from all the books (WA, GGG, ZZ, and maybe the Potato people book has some, too) and rewriting all of them unique rooms/encounters that give narrative buffs or minus for room encounters based off of whatever originally char trait gives. For me now, official 4ad stuff is more of a "suggestion" on what I could use books or content for, I now more enjoy taking those suggestions more like playdo and puddy morphing them into my own things. Other things I have done is used 4 milestones to create an integrated mega campaign plot that incorporates all the elements rolled, treating each one as like an episode arch to an overaching plot, like on a tv show. I've rolled two Twisted Dungeons and combined them together into one dungeon and created a story representing why both have been combined together, then I randomized sections of the dungeon representing each twisted feature.
