My standard airplane uniform is a dark tee and jogger set, compression socks, and either my Skechers or Dr. Scholls sneakers. I wear my hair in a low ponytail with a silk scrunchie, and I never wear my jewelry. I keep a pashmina style wrap rolled up in my personal item bag. I want to look presentable, but I need to be comfortable as well.
Thank you so much for mentioning not wearing perfume. Many recommend small sprayers for travel to freshen up on the flight. Are you kidding so selfish. It’s like doing your nails on the plane. Just don’t. Think of other people. I can’t tell you how often I’ve had someone spray perfume near me. To everyone likes your perfume and many don’t like it. Just wait until you’re off the plane. Great tip on flowy clothing. I wore a flowy midi dress and had to pull it up around my neck so it didn’t pool onto the back of the toilet on the plane. Never again Great tips! Also, I used your link and purchased the Scholl sneakers you mentioned a few weeks ago. I love them! I’ve been looking for comfortable white sneakers for over a year and never knew that brand sold sneakers. Thanks again.
Agree with the perfume or cologne. Gives me an instant headache. I actually appreciate we can now wear masks without too many people staring or judging. It helps keep the smells at bay and a more comfortable flight for me. I really don’t understand why some people seem to bathe in their cologne. Sometimes people are 20 feet away from me and the cologne is way overpowering and causing me to have a headache. Empathetic person, but this one I just can’t understand.
@@anncook1436 it makes my throat itch and I immediately start coughing. I’ve never been a fan of cologne but even less so in a small crowded space. I just don’t see the need for it on a plane. My mother said the only one who should be able to smell your perfume is your sweetie. Implying that one should have to be up close and personal to smell it. When I got older she’d say lover instead of sweetie. I guess she didn’t want to give me TOO many ideas and kept it G rated. 😆
Great video! No short shorts or skirts. You don’t know what has been on that seat, plus your legs will stick on leather or vinyl seats or get itchy on the awful fabric seats.
Thanks. Please make a companion video to this geared to us gents. I agree about appropriate outfits. Nowadays I tend to wear something I’d be proud to have my niece wear, nephews, and parents to see me wear (if that makes sense). Though I haven’t flown since 2009. While I am a boot guy … I definitely reach for my Ariat Wexford chelseas.
Lol-I had to stop wearing white to work because it always resulted in a coffee spill no matter how careful I was. Never happened with any other color 😅
Good content. I like to be comfortable when flying but also presentable. A few years ago a good friend flew - via connecting flights - to Europe. It was a long overnight trip and she chose absolute comfort - worn-in T shirt and yoga pants. And didn't have any clothing in her carry-on. Yep. Her checked bag didn't show up when she landed, and she was in a fairly dressy city in Spain for a few days wearing an outfit hat was barely a step above pajamas. I've not only always worn presentable casual clothes in flight, I've packed a few extra garments in my carry on when checking a bag. (Undies, sox, a shirt, maybe more.) I always thought that was a bit silly, even though I kept doing it. After my friend's experience, I no longer think it's silly or unnecessary! And, compression socks for the win. I love Sockwell knee highs; they are a blend with wool and the most comfy socks. I got some for travel years ago and they quickly have become a wardrobe staple whether I'm home or away.
If I wear a long sleeve T-shirt that’s comfy on a plane, I put a short sleeve one in my bag. Once I was stuck at an airport when the a/c was out and glad to have a short sleeve shirt to change into. I also put my swimsuit in my carry on because if my checked bag is lost, finding/shopping for a replacement swimsuit while traveling would be a nightmare. My fav tip is wearing two pair of socks through TSA so after walking through with my shoes off I strip off the outer pair so only my clean socks go back in my shoes. Edit: I put the second pair on while in line, I don’t wear two pairs to the airport so my shoes aren’t uncomfortably tight or stretch out.
A handy hint to get grease or stains out of clothing is simply pour dishwashing liquid onto the stain and rub it in then wash in the washing machine. It may not get everything out but it certainly keeps your clothes wearable for longer.
I really disagree on the loose clothing suggestion. I love to wear a flowy skirt with leggings underneath so I don’t have to pack it. The skirt can have a blanket feeling and keeps me warm. The leggings can be easily removed when I reach my tropical destination. One more thing, I don’t know who these gross people are that you’re traveling with but I think they are the same people that we dress up to go to the theatre and church with. I think I can keep my clothing out of their filth. Love your content. This one just triggered me a little.
You didn’t have a problem with the flowy skirt touching the back of the airplane toilet? I had to pull my skirt up so it wouldn’t touch it. Some people are filthy. Even at the theater and church. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to move because someone near me in flip flops was picking their dirty feet while waiting for the plane. Or some other nasty habit.
@@60Airflyteright?! You and I might be clean, but unfortunately not everyone else is. I don’t want my flowy clothing touching the toilet or other questionable surfaces. I don’t want to be part of anyone’s gross habits.
I’m not a paranoid flyer/traveler but I try to be safety minded in the most basic sense. I’m that person who counts how many rows I am from the exit row in case of an emergency evacuation in a smoke filled cabin (or an upside down one 😳) where I can’t see anything and I’m disoriented, and I also count how many doors down my room is from the closest exit in a hotel for the same reason and if it’s to the left or right (imagine crawling down a smoke filled hallway trying to find the exit) I always wear sneakers and avoid flowy clothing on a plane because it’s safer in an emergency evacuation (going down the slide, other panicked passengers clamoring for the exit stepping on my feet, grabbing at my clothes or getting them stuck in an armrest etc…). I hope I never NEED to utilize any of these safety measures but they’re so simple and the least I can do to maximize my chance of survival in an emergency. If I want to look stylish at my destination I can change at the airport on arrival. I always like to wash my face, brush my teeth, and reapply my lipstick then anyway.

Also, perfume can cause allergy symptoms in some people.

@@suzatlarge yes! I always carry extra socks and undies as well as a change of clothes in my carry on. You never know what might happen.

Another reason to fly carry on or personal item only. 😊
Your milk glass collection in the background of your video is so stunning!
Thank you 😊
That red dress is gorgeous! It has held up well for 5 years. Max Studio (or another manufacturer) needs to reissue. 💃
Another thing not to wear is short shorts. You don’t want to sit with bare legs & butt on the seat that someone has sat in before.
It could have been puked, peed or shit on too. You just don’t know.
For pregnant women, compression socks are a MUST. Learned that the hard way...spent vaycay with horribly swollen ankles and feet.

No dishwashing liquid at the hotel.
Keen shoes are my go to for travel.
I saw on another video is to write out the alphabet with you feet. I do this while wearing my compression socks to help decrease swelling.
Thank you for these last minute reminders as I am flying out to Miami tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn
I always travel with my Eddie Bauer Jacket spandex leggings, a hat, scarf and a short dress.
Genex you truly are gorgeous ‼️❤
Great tips😊
i always take my fleece north face jacket

Bet that flowy skirt was dragging on that filthy floor around your seat. You don’t really believe it gets cleaned regularly do you?
