    Do you have any idea what the voltage is for the Headunit pre-amp outputs? I have a feeling they are less than 4.0 volts and will cause poor volume/sound at things like a sub amp or factory speaker amp like you described. I wasnt able to find this information on their site.

      @@lmlebouef I would need to see a pic, but generally you would connect the rear audio output from the head unit (seperate to main connection block), to the line level converter, then unpick the rear audio cables from your main harness and connect then to the other side of your line out converter

I looked at your 'diagram' but it doesn't actually make sense. You'd have two blue amp cables and you clearly don't, so how did you do that. I assume you're using a signal separation filter, but are you using two? Any and all help would be great mate.

    Great informative video. I currently have an Eonon stereo in my 2006 A4 and I also ran into the tight fit, so good to know that it wasn't anything that I did wrong. Knowing that I should trim a small amount off of the top will definitely come in handy with future mods. The question I have today is if there is a substantive difference between the aftermarket Android head units from Eonon, Seicane and XTRONS. I'm finding the Eonon to be subpar with its 2GB memory, 16GB storage and Android 6.0 operating system. Considering replacing it with either Seicane or XTRONS to bump up to 4GB memory and 32GB storage along with Android 8.0. Any benefit to that other than the obvious upgrades? I'm a bit leery about the "line converter" as I don't believe I had to do that with my current installation. Not sure I should be cutting and splicing wires. LOL.

    • @TorqueSteer
      @TorqueSteer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Seicane and Xtrons seem to be the exact same unit (it even says xtrons in the manual).
      From what I’ve seen, the two places my head unit seems to have an advantage is the instant on and more ram. There is very little loading involved since everything is stored in its memory until you do a full restart.
      I wouldn’t worry about splicing the wires with the line in converter. Like I said in the video, the rear speaker wires don’t lead anywhere so there’s nothing to lose. You could always join them back together if you wanted to :) I did face a similar problem with the rear speakers with my Pioneer but that head unit allowed me to boost the rear preouts slightly so I didn’t need a line lever converter. I would say it’s a necessity with this head unit though since you lose a lot of bass since the rear subwoofer will be very quiet otherwise.

      Torque Steer, THANK YOU for the quick and useful response! 😉 One other issue I need to resolve, which I failed to mention is poor radio reception but this also started with the factory RNS-E so it's very likely a faulty or failed antenna component in my 11-year-old A4. 🙄

    • @TorqueSteer
      @TorqueSteer  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem. You are welcome :)
      Hopefully, it’s just one of the plugs that have a bad connection. Although, just tapping the blue antenna wire together with the appropriate wire on the head unit should at least let you know of the antenna amp is powering up.

    you basically cutting the speaker wire FROM the head unit to the speakers , then re routing it to the hi lo speaker wires, and then connecting the RCA FROM the stereo to the hi lo converter ? so all connections are from the head unit TO the head unit.

      Torque Steer, Bose symphony yes. But... was able to get it figured out, rather som1 figured it for me. It had an rca harness that I hadn’t hooked up, had no idea about it. No install instructions were included. Up & running now, all plug & play, fortunately didn’t need converters. Very pleased with unit now! I really appreciate the reply!

    So I've seen people trying a few different methods, this one seems to not need the hi/low converter? th-cam.com/video/Ez1yhkigwbs/w-d-xo.html Just wondering what you think. Also, did you have issues with electrical hiss/noise when the headlights are turned on?
