Thanks man! Appreciate the love! Def a couple things I have had since I was younger that are super vintage! Hey not showing any of the Gibsons! I gotta handful of those too....couple basses! Just got new studio up and running!!
Ahhhh YES, it is!! Really you gotta love both!! They have such different tones that are essential to guitar almost gotta have both! I notice many also have Vox (AC30s see lots) that Vox pedal I got kinda turns like a clean Fender amp into a Vox!!
It's Cool to see a Fellow Guitarist as a Big Fan of Stevie! I Certainly Miss Stevie! He was just Getting Big when Tragedy Struck! Keep Rocking Out Chris!!!
Yes my friend! I was lucky enough to see him 5 or 6 times! Wanna say at least 2 times in 1989 pretty much up until tragic death....baaaad day remember like yesterday!!
Man I have heard a lot of people cover Stevie's songs but they always feel...robotic, like they're missing soul. You my man have got that soul, I feel it oozing from the music notes as you're playing.
Big compliment super appreciate from bottom of my heart!! Man, I am just trying to spread the SRV love and glad you dig!! Thanks again means the world!!
You've got the cool gear, you've got the great tone... but most importantly, you've got the beautiful heart and soul!!! Thank you for sharing and inspiring through your lessons and performances. Would love to see more footage of you and your band playing live as even beyond the SRV, you've really got something special going on. Rock on!
Nice I've been an SRV copy cat since I started playing 9 years ago in a shed on Nantucket. I've had 6 or 7 amps and pedals. Now living in a retirement RV Park and plug straight into a Spark micro Amp the Go. If I play outside the people 1/8 mile away. Think I having a party. Because I AM😅
I agree!!! YES Stevie had couple he used and Derek Trucks uses nothing else! I think might be best amp made! They create or can magic!! Mine again only 1970 but can get your hands on even older one would even interest me!!! Definitely secret to my SRV sound!! YOU'RE SAILING!!!!
Nice 👍 Guitars 🎸and amps ! I am a blues guy like yourself and building on my own equipment. Got a custom telecaster( Mexican) with all gold hardware. Having a custom Stratocaster built as well! Like your playing!
Awesome @saxonsteve!! Thanks much full disclosure I teach guitar so play all styles definitely more Country than anything else!! These most my amps (gotta few more) but got more guitars!!! 3 or 4 Les Pauls- 335 style (Gibson Midtown) and a tons of Telecasters 5 or 6 (keep one in Nashville) that I play the most!! Blues my personal favorite really the foundation for most other music, right? Lemme know if anything you looking to learn!
Hey Chris, Most fun watching in video in a while. Loved your Chinese Strat, sounds killer. Checked out your band--rocks. If you ever play in Charleston, SC, I definitely want to check it out. Keep rockin'!
Thanks Robert! Amazing how good Hamiltone made in China is!! Using the pickups that came in it! I think guitars being homemade give them originality but def not like some of the other guys out there, they got custom 1st Wife's and Lenny's and real Hamiltones!!
I think some of the key ingredients to a good SRV tone are tuning your Strat down a half step and being able to turn your app up loud and turning the volume up on the tube screamer without adding too much gain. Seems like you have a good handle on it. Thanks for the video.
Very very correct my friend!! Def gotta tune down half step and not sure if you ever saw Stevie Ray Vaughan live, he played as loud as anyone that ever played electric guitar! Thanks for the love and watching super appreciate!
Thanks, to me nothing fancy. Pedal far left is TC Electronics Vibraclone Rotary (Leslie effect meant to step on) and next to it is a Vox Valve-Tone Model V810 (basically a Vox Tube Screamer) 2nd stage tube driver can be adjusted with more 'Gain' to desire!!
Again vintage 1970 Fender Super Reverb - Vol: 3 / Treble: 5/ Mid:5 1/2/ Bass: 4/ Rev: 2 1/2/ Intensity: 1 1/2 /Plugged into: Input 1 and 'Bright' Switch is On/Up!! Sorry meant to mention, trying to not make video too long! Thanks for watching!
No not in the 1st wife, has some (not even sure what) I took out of some $100 Strat but it was made in USA will check name of guitar company can't remember off top of my head. The 'Lenny' is a USA Fender Stratocaster (22 fret) middle stock and neck and bridge those Fender '65's, Roadworn really old stock pretty sure they come with the Fender Tex Mex and the Hamiltone made in China whatever they put in them but sure do sound good!!!
YES!!! That is correct except that natural gain from turning it up louder! To me that sparkle/ spank is key to SRV tone and of course the Tube Screamer! I use the 2 Tube Screamer system, one set with little more gain and the other at '11 O'Clock' here the Vox Valve-Tone works great but will replace with Tube Screamer 808!!
Good Gear !. I Have Fenders And Gibson Guitars. A Super Concert Fender Amp And Marshal. And I Want To Get Me A Vox Amp. Very Cool !. I Am 26 Six Years Old And I Was Born In Texas. It Looks Like You Are From Texas Right ?. I Live Here Guadalajara Mexico And I Also Go To Texas And California Where I Have Family And Friends. I Hope You Had A Good Christmas Time And I Wish You Happy New Year And Best Wishes For You And Your Family. Thanks/Gracias. See You Soon.
Hello my friend!! I am actually not from Texas, I used to send time there regularly and play from San Antonio to Houston area not so much in Dallas/Ft Worth area when touring. I have 6 original Blues CDS out! I do have bunch of Gibsons too, probably Les Pauls my favorites! Happy Holidays to and your family and thanks for the love from Mexico!!!
Hi Jeff, buddy what came in them!!!! Hard to believe!!! They sound really good! Again one of those replicas made in China that take forever for you to get but both sound and feels great, super nice neck and weight!! Whatever they put in them over there!
@blacksouthernrocker Yeah I thought for sure you changed them out to something you prefer cause it's not often you get a set from there that sounds good.
We all love (or at least should) Randy, Eddie, SRV... but add Angus Young (tons AC DC dressed in schoolboy}, Tom Petty, Prince, Hell even Stevie Nicks and countless others. Many have never had chance to ever see these artists and have heard from. Having said that man, I play mostly Country, toured as original Blues rock artist BTW def check out brand new Blues rock original 'QUIET PART OUT LOUD' just posted for what I sound like!!! But free SRV lessons right here to help others out .....don't think anyone is trying to be SRV, Hendrix, Stevie Nicks and as good as some them guys doing EVH never another EDDIE!!!!!!
Dang man this is like a rock history museum. Great stuff. Always appreciate your talent and positivity. Rock on Chris!
Thanks man! Appreciate the love! Def a couple things I have had since I was younger that are super vintage! Hey not showing any of the Gibsons! I gotta handful of those too....couple basses! Just got new studio up and running!!
@@blacksouthernrocker awesome! Rig rundown needed!
Love it. Most people take sides in the Marshall vs. Fender amp debate, but mixing both is the secret sauce of rock n roll
Ahhhh YES, it is!! Really you gotta love both!! They have such different tones that are essential to guitar almost gotta have both! I notice many also have Vox (AC30s see lots) that Vox pedal I got kinda turns like a clean Fender amp into a Vox!!
I agree I use a dsl 40 and a blues deville 4/10

Thanks Chris ., Totally sailing …!!!
The super reverb is such a great amp.
SRV loved them . Derrick trucks uses nothing else.

The guitars are awesome. The Chinese Hamiltone(not sure of spelling)has killer tones. Great collection of gear
