I used to work on cars and did welding for people but it's always can you do it cheap and people told people just got to much yes its people are lazy or have not got a clue i got sick of the hassle i work on my own car and not at garage as its expensive and the got the tools i do help friends as a favour as it works both ways but i will say you know your cars well and do a good job 👍 im starting a full engine service on my focus just waiting for my parts but im not like you where every thing has to be original and perfect but im using good quality brands as it will be my daily car and be looked after but won't be a show car but a tidy one and reliable as its very low mileage
-+ Well, if that was a 'rant' it was a Ruinous And Necessary Truth! My parents were very late having kids, but in our household everything was handed down, mended and/or repaired. I learned 90+% of my mechanical 'know how' from my Father, and by the age of 16 I was having house re-wiring passed by the then electricity board, and the same with gas central heating systems! So if I was able to do it at 16, there's absolutely no excuse for others, especially in this internet age In my day, a Haynes manual was like a mechanics bible! Okay, so everyone's different, I did have a natural aptitude for all things mechanical, BUT before the internet came along, if you could read, there wasn't much you couldn't teach yourself, all you needed was a library card. Yes! We have gotten lazy. And that's my rant! But a brilliant clip, more of the same, please!
Andrew with the never ending battle to hold back rust do you recommend any particular product I have used both waxoyl and Dinitrol 1000 and Dinitrol hs 3125 my galaxy did pass its mot but I noticed some corrosion that could do with treating
@@nicholaswilliams4532 3125 is my recommendation for cavities like sills but the rust will need treating beforehand then Dynax UC is my no1 choice to cover the underside and arches.
I get where you are coming from and I agree. I see it in my job as well with a bit of laziness. It's sad to see and frustrating people being less patient with everything. Now I'll admit I'm a beginner of working on cars and have started doing a few jobs as and when I can and take my time even though I'm not the most practical of people. I'm willing to give a go at jobs that I can do and will do them when I can. Hope from my posts on the group I don't come across as one of these lazy people 😂.
Sooo i want to buy a mk1 focus manual , where do you recomend i supply it from? An online servise maybe? I would consider to pay more and having access to all car manuals , is that a thing anyway?
You are so wrong on this subject. Most likely the person who wanted to pay you thinks that you would get the job done properly. Most of your videos are truly excellent but some, such as this one are wrong and quite frankly pointless.
@@tilldawn22thanks for your opinion on this but he definetly didn't. Some of that exchange was omitted and shortened for filming purposes quite frankly typical of the culture of "can you do this" assuming I'm somewhat available as a complete stranger! I'm sorry if you think this video and others surprisingly are not up to my usual standard but to me it certainly wasn't pointless and totally in line with my "you can do it yourself" underpinnings of this channel.

Your having a go Adam, I'm really pleased to see this. The advice I should really give is try, just try and see where it goes. You'd be surprised :)
