Fascinating yet a little unsettling interview. Brave man to go alone to an isolated area and conduct a ritual. Actually not sure if id be more scared of mad axe murders, but i would definitely be nervous

I agree It feels much harder for women to be alone in these places. I envy my husband who can go for walks late at night without a care

In the height of lockdown, I don't know if you remember, but a white stag was shot here in Liverpool by the police running around the streets.
    Stuck with me that.
I can't help feeling it was very significant. So tragic but I see it as a massive message and augury.

I do remember that. It shook me to the core at the time. It was horrific. Yes, it was hugely meaningful.

Just another sign that my beloved England has lost its way. Much love from South Africa. I long for the England I once knew.

Hi Jo and Darragh, I have a question about the ethical implications of Darragh embracing and welcoming this entity into his life, and I would be grateful if you can answer me.
First of all, let me be clear that I don't believe that the Christian devil exists, and it is my understanding that he doesn't even exist as this entity that personifies evil in the Hebrew scriptures, but rather, the devil was just a negative force that resides within each person and that incites them to do evil acts, but that one must push away everyday by choosing to do benevolent acts instead. From what I know, not even the Christian hell exists in the Hebrew scriptures, and when Jesus originally talked about hell, he was referring to a physical place in which he said lived people that commited evil acts.
And also I understand that the folkloric devil is not the same as the Christian devil, and I have heard of this Dark Man before, and I even read a story of a person who said that the Dark Man saved their life when they were a child.
However, I do think that there are negative entities that can be potentially harmful, and that welcoming them into your life can have negative consecuences. And in interviews that you have done with other people in the podcast Jo, you always tell them to follow their instincts: if the entity they encounter causes fear in them, then it's potentially harmful and it's best to stay away from it.
So my concern is that since Darragh felt terrified of this being and that this terror even made him stop his magical practice for a while, how is he sure that contacting this entity again and welcoming it into his life was the right thing to do? How is he sure that doing so and even writing a book about it won't end up harming him or someone else? How is he sure that this being is not actually "evil"?
When he said that he felt humbled by the vastness and power of the entity, I think negative entities can be more powerful than us, but that doesn't mean we must do what they say, so, again, how was he sure it was the right thing to do?
Thank you so much for your time Jo and Darragh, and I apologize for the very long comment 😅

Thanks for your comment! I understand how this might land with people, because it’s been so ingrained in us to be fearful of the Darkness.
In my humble opinion, think you got to trust your trip and if it feels right to you (and remember that Darragh is an accomplished magician and has his head screwed on, he’s a very kind, wise and thoughtful individual) you need to go with that. If things were off/wrong you would know about it or if you were so far gone and you couldn’t, your loved ones would notice. So, for eg if you’re not feeling yourself or behaving in an erratic way or you are falling out with dear loved ones in order to interact with this being, then something is clearly amiss.
But Darragh’s fear -if I understood him correctly - was the fear that this stuff is real. It hit him hard. It is scary when you first come into contact with real beings that exist beyond the veil and you feel their force and realise how inconsequential we are as human beings. I was terrified sometimes too in the beginning when I first encountered. But I moved through it. I had a good teacher and so did Darragh.
In Ireland in particular (or any Catholic country) the ‘fear of the devil’ is put into you from a young age so it’s a huge thing to move through, but it’s even more important that you trust your trip with it and not what others are telling you.
For everyone it will be different and there are most certainly cases where people have connected with something evil - though I have not met anyone who has had an experience like that. The beings may show up as scary but there’s always something to be revealed behind the fear they provoke. I’m not saying every case is like that though. Real dark entities exist (and a lot of the time, humans themselves are doing their bidding and personifying the darkest warped depths by the looks of things out there atm!).
I think no one can ever know what it is like for someone else to move through something like this. Even if they ‘think’ they know. In my view, we don’t have the right to tell others what they should or shouldn’t be doing, if they are not hurting anyone (none of these potential or ‘theoretical hurts’ but actual harm being done).
However, as I say if someone is being dragged apart and suffering as a result of this entity interaction then it will be clear that real damage is taking place (the person is unhappy/completely changed personality for the worse and probably physically or visibly ill, their relationships are failing etc etc) then the person’s family would be advised to seek help.
Have you read Darragh’s book? If not, I’d recommend you read it first and I’d love to hear your thoughts. 🙂

So you connect with a very dark spirit and are filled with fear, the spirit tells you they are Lucifer (your words) and you then go on to write a book about the spirit which suddenly gets published.....

You have to think outside the box here. Dark spirits are not always what they seem and the stories we are taught about them are not usually true. But it’s hard to explain to someone that if they have not experienced. It’s ok to stay with what makes sense for you and see how that serves you. We are all seeking in our own ways.

@@themodernfairysightingspod8421I have experienced many things and learned the hard way that if you naively invite darkness into your life because you are too open minded, you will pay a price. Or worse, maybe someone you love dearly will. Just because you discard the values and beliefs that went before you, doesn't make you immune to 'evil'.
