Most are dead or dying. Bring in some chicago guys with exception of frank Calabrese jr. I cant stand a guy who would testify against his dad. Try to bring in nick calabrese, the guy who started family secrets.
      2) try phil leonetti but make him wear that dog hair piece.
      3) try the chins daughters. One from his first wife, olympia, and one from his 2nd wife, also named olympia.
      4) lil al d'arco's son
      5) greg scarpa jr
      6) joe massino

Hey Julian. If your interested in the mafia. My grandmother was a real estate agent in Nevada. And In the 70/80s the mob moved to Nevada. She was many of there real estate agent. Had insane stories about what they wanted or didn’t want near their houses. Might be looking into looking for sources in that state for what happened after the downfall of the large criminal organization. Also. Your absolutely fire. Very glad to have you on TH-cam my friend. @@JulianDorey Stephen Graham can cry on command with such strong emotion. The best actors can. That is not an insult but a deep-seated innate ability to draw on strong emotions & empathy (a skill that can be used for good & evil). In Snatch he does it when his character thinks he's about to die & his life flashes before his eyes (so impressive).
In Boardwalk he does it when Capone's character shows weakness (not weakness) AKA true love & empathy for his deaf son's suffering.
      I don't trust actors 😏but I respect them

Joe was a Gangster (capital G) but every boss claims that movie was losely based on them. I'm familiar with Joe's story but as much as Joe can be credited with building this, his book tore it down. It was the first closeup look into that life.

    • @JulianDorey

The book was controversial for sure - but I also do buy the idea that no one ever saw RICO coming. That’s what the book helped with obviously - and in hindsight, of course it looks 20-20. Harder to say in 1983 imo

I grew up in Tucson. The Bonnano family is well known and respected. My grandfather took a pretty large sum of money from one of Bonnano’s guys in a gin game. Guy decided to drive by my families home (I wasn’t alive yet my mom was a child) and shot through the window. No one was hurt. My grandfather a 5’6 Jewish guy not intimidating at all drove to Joseph’s house. Explained very respectfully what happens. From then on he and Joseph were friends. My grandfather was from Brooklyn. He opened a carpet store in Tucson. Joseph would buy his flooring from us. He was a good man and they’re a good family. Well at least had a net positive in Tucson. I can’t speak to every single one of them. My brother is friends with one of the offspring. He’s a good man too. Smart business man

they dumped the people not to lighten the load only, but also iut would require the pursuers to stop to help the people out of the water, at least I would think so. It seems that Joe Kennedy would have had stories following him even if he is in the background rumours would have been swirling and I can't see Hoover not using those somehow. I am speculating but it seems logical that tossing people would be a hindrance somehow.

As there is dispute and as everyone is now getting killed again it would have been a key point to get his opinion on what is the exact name of the families now and who when there is dispute who each of them recognize as being the top ask it and if they say it pay attention in your interviews and get them to clarify so it is more clear as to who is on whose side !

    Interview was great. But….
    1) It has been widely reported that when Bonnano went to Sicily in 1957 he and Carmine Gilante met with sicilians and others to establish the “French Connection.”. You really should have asked him how that fits with the alleged Bonanno “no-drug” policy.
    2) It doesn’t seem like Salvatore really knows much beyond what has already been published in either Joe Bonanno’s book or Honor Thy Father. I’m not sure I heard anything I didn’t already know other than the Joe Kennedy thing.
