I only wish Dean/Fili had more screen time in the films. Don't get me wrong, I love Aidan too....but if your gonna have dwarf brothers who are inseparable, the least one can do is offer them the same amount of time on screen with lines in all three films. Dean is an amazing actor and I would have loved to see more of him in film.
I think Dean might have had more lines in the 1st movie if he had been hired before filming started. Peter Jackson said Rob Kazinsky's leaving didn't affect filming, but there are a number of scenes in which he used a double for Fili or which Fili didn't appear at all. In the 2nd & 3rd movie, Aidan lucked out that Warner Bros wanted a female character and that they wanted that character to be involved in a love triangle. If Kili wasn't chosen to play Tauriel's love interest, Aidan probably wouldn't have had much of a role either. I wonder if any of the actors that signed on to play the Dwarves, would have done so if they knew in advance how small their roles would be. There was no script when they were hired, so they couldn't know that Jackson was going to bring in all those additional characters in his efforts to tie the Hobbit in with LOTR.
SoulRythm Agreed, I also wanted to see more of his story in that he was being groomed by Thorin to possibly be the next king and what his own thoughts and feeling were on that. We really only got that one quick scene in lake town where it was directly addressed.

Yes same. It does feel like most of the action happens to kili, until Fili’s death of course.

I cried.... Three times. It hurt so much. I saw it a second time and cried 5 times. At the same point in the movie. omg.

At this point, I just wish Aidan would get a decent movie role. Spending 2-1/2 years on The Hobbit didn't do a thing to further his career. Since then Aidan's movies have either died at the box office or haven't even made it into a movie theater.

Then if bestselling author JD Robb ever gets her 'In Death' book series adapted to a screenplay ( TV series, movie or Mini-series) he could play Roarke! The husband & techie guru to the head protagonist, Eve Dallas, a homicide detective in 2060s Manhattan, NYC!!
Roarke is also Irish ♥️☘️🍀
@@jprevatt I don't think Aidan would be allowed to compete on Dancing with the Stars. He did Ballroom and Salsa dancing for 9 years even representing Ireland at one point. But it would be great if Aidan could come on the show as a guest to SHOW THEM A FEW OF HIS MOVES.
@@AidanTurnerForever there was another contestant back in 2010 on DWTS with a similar name. But spelled it with an 'E'. Completely different person, Brit actor, not Irish, different age bracket, locale etc. But that guy got eliminated mid-season.
So wouldn't it be awesome to have AidAn the well-trained dancer (perhaps as a trainer then?) to make the next auditions for the show??

Aidan had short hair and Dean had long on the audition. But later it's opposite. xD
SN - Old channel Aidan did his audition in 2010 when he was still working on Being Human so he still had "Mitchell hair." Dean also first auditioned in 2010 when I believe he was working on The Almighty Johnson so he had the haircut of his character on that series. When Dean auditioned for the second time in 2011, he wasn't working so he probably just let his hair grow out. Aidan wasn't auditioning the second time, he was just reading opposite Dean to see if they had chemistry. Aidan cut his hair short along with a number of other cast mates, not sure why, but I think it was because it was hot under those wigs.
AidanTurnerForever, I knew it was something logic back there. But I just wrote that comment because I thought it was funny. Because first Dean had long and Aidan short, then oposite in the video. xD

Fortunately for Aidan, Warner Bros wanted to add the Tauriel character to bring in the female audience. And they wanted a romance and Aidan lucked out that he got to play the love interest.

Totally agree. I doubt the actors that played the dwarves would ever say it, but I wonder if they would have signed up for The Hobbit if they knew what little screen time they would get. When Aidan and the others were hired, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens hadn't written the script yet. And they had no idea that Peter Jackson was going to try and tie The Hobbit to LOTR by bringing in Orlando Bloom and all those other characters that weren't in the book
@@AidanTurnerForever I guess work is work. At least all the Dwarves look different from each other so the viewers can tell them apart. In the book, there was Thorin and "all the other Dwarves" as none of them bar Thorin stood out in my mind. If the actors only read the book first, they might have been pleasantly surprised at how individual their particular character turned out to be.

Fact: In the book, both Kili and Fili are said to have blonde hair. I had to re-read it. It said both had blonde beards so that would mean both had Blonde hair. Strange sir Ian didn't bring that up as he corrected a lot of things in the script with the book xD
OMG, I love these guys! Nice to see that they get along so great! And Aidan is so cute saying "I'm finally in a big movie!" Yes, you are finally in a big movie, and you were great! You were so damn sexy and adorable as Kili women are going to cry their eyes out during this third movie! And, yes, I will be one of them!
I am not prepared for the death of these characters. Ugh.

Unfortunately, I don't think any of the actors that played the dwarves got to recreate their audition scene in the movies.

1:56 Kinda wish this was the version in BOTFA. Although I can’t be sure what they where thinking for the context in this audition scene, I think it still would have worked nicely in that movie. Just my personal opinion.
I'll bet from the audition that Dean thought he would have more scenes/lines than he did. I don't know if his screen time was cut because they hired Dean late into the production or because Peter Jackson added all those other characters in trying to tie The Hobbit to LOTR. Whatever the reason, it must have been very disappointing for O'Gorman.
@@AidanTurnerForever It was disappointing for audiences too! I really wanted to see more of Fili AND Kili apart from the ginned-up stupid elf/dwarf romance. I thought the way they died in the book was great (both fall protecting Thorin) and was very bummed that their deaths ended up being stupid and pointless in the movies, especially Fili's. The whole movie was a bloated mess.

I wish they had both died more like they were supposed to, while I by no means wanted them to die I was looking forward to the way it was said in the book and continuing to see that brothers and uncle relationship.
In the book, they died off script. Bilbo just mentioned that they died together ?

Not sure and with Dean's track record in The Hobbit movies, if he does get to film this scene, it will end up on the cutting room floor.
Sure looks like it. At the very start, right at 1:56 you can see just the top of Aidan's head where he's lying on the floor.
selimsa803 Aidan did Dean's audition with him, that why you might have seen him on the floor, but that doesn't mean Dean was talking about Kili. Aidan could have been playing Thorin's part.

SailorSaturn1994 I don't think it was a fake scene as you can't really spoil The Hobbit story. There are of course unknowns in the movie, all the things Peter Jackson added but unfortunately what happens to Thorin, Kili and Fili is set in stone.

My question is Dean O’Gorman’s Hair cut and biers changed twice.
Dean's hair was longer before he started filming. He cut his hair when he had to start wearing that heavy wig. Part of Dean's beard in the movie was fake, but he had to grow his own to a certain extent.
