When the heck are going to get past Women Vs Men in positions instead of simply looking for the best candidate? I think this is why even service delivery is suffering, we are too blindsided by political agendas at the cost of a delivery agenda
I am concerned that the Chief Justice contenders are interviewed publicly which disadvantages those that get interviewed earlier than others .Justice Maya even remarked that she watched Justice Madlanga being interviewed.
Judge president Maya has proof her capabilities in Supreme Court , she has a vision to the progress and advance the Judiciary and she is trusted Candidate by JSC Commissioner Hope President Ramaphosa appoint her it would be a great disappointment if he does not as she has proven herself in reality and her ideas are Sterling,.
A commissioner suggested a loan from IMF /World Bank to fund the judiciary, seriously, we one of the richest countries on the Continent and he doesn't know the economics of the country. CR has just taken a loan for himself and his cronies, perhaps if they stop being caretakers of multinational corporations, the West and Europe there will be no need for loans. The citizens own nothing and keep being the cheap labour force for these colonial masters. As for re-inventing the wheel, there is a major need to re-invent it to govern the people of SA. The country is in the state it is in is because those who inventef this wheel invented it for their benefit and not for the citizens and they appoint those who will not challenge the ingrained Apartheid policies. These politicians are all caretakers of their colonial masters interests. 30years later, who owns the banks, land, mines, etc we still living in shacks and still depending on their vaxes that we don't trust. Malinated people are the most intelligent people on the planted, but because our oppressors still undermine us, keep us subjugated we undermine ourselves. We need to emancipate our minds from this mental slavery.
From the picture in the background I see the scales of justice being held up by a white woman but in ancient Egypt or Khemeti they were held by a black picture of a woman called Ma Ati ( Ma'at). Okay I've got nothing against woman chief judges the big thing is that they must show talent in speech and in action or judgement. It must not be a matter of gender equality but a matter of merit and love for justice. No one would doubt Winnie Mandela for her love of truth, reprocity and justice despite being a woman. I don't see that with justice Maya, she seems to struggle a lot in answering questions, and I don't know whether she's shy or not. If I were her I would come all out because this is a very serious position, somebody innocent could be wrongly jailed, prosecuted or even given a life sentence. She also doesn't come out on customary law although she claims to be intombhi yakwa Radebe. I am for gender equality but on merit, we don't want another Margaret Thatcher in South Africa!!!
She is was not necessarily tested on whether she can be able to Judge correctly, she has long passed that stage. She's actually being tested on whether she can be able to lead the apex Court and the entire judiciary. I don't understand what you meant that she does not come out on customery law; did she fail to address any matter based on customery law?
In the case of USA taking over 200 years to appoint judges of color cannot be or is not comparable to South Africa. USA is led by there estwhile oppressors but South Africa is led by those who were oppressed. If there should be any change in the US that is dependent not on the disadvantaged but on the advantages. I SA the drivers of change are the disadvantaged.
Judge Maya is my only viable candidate. She has to be the one.. why? She fits the bill. She is MAYA- Most Advanced Yet Acceptable! That’s the principle at play here. Come let’s do it for Mandela.
I totally agree with you. But the powers that be will force in one of their own. Our contry is in so much trouble.......every level of corruption has been reached. Now for the judiciary........Lets goooooo!!!!!!!!
Judge Maya is brilliant and she has my vote for Chief Justice there are no scandals on her track and she is competent..
I so wish we can listen to deliberations of Commissioners that lead to the recommendation. Am sure it was interesting.
🇿🇦🇿🇦After done watching all 4 candidates interviews i do highlight Maya as a Chief Justice she performed so well & she gut a great record as well 🇿🇦🇿🇦
NOT TOUGH ENOUGH FOR THE SKELMS IN SOUTH AFRICA .
🤣🤣🤣

The best candidate for the position of Chief Justice. Big ups for Justice Maya.
I got charmed by this judge 👩⚖️

Great observation
what qualification does Julius need to be here and interview a candidate of such profound legal background
And what does Singh have that Malema doesn't have? Is it because he's black? Learn as to who constitute this panels before you embarrass yourself
move away from "Because he"s black" find better reasons
I really don't understand this interview! How do they hope to use it to determine if she is the best candidate for the job? or they already know?
The question on corruption by CiC was not answered adequately; budget should not be an issue if there's a workable solution that will benefit justice.
What kind of interviee is this.is obvious that they gonna select her as chief justice, they favours her already
29:00 if you are looking for Dali Mpofu's stupid sexual innuendo.
