    I'm supposed to have my M3 LR delivered this coming Saturday morning. I've downloaded your delivery day checklist, and printed out two copies, one for me, and one for my brother. He's going with me, because I need a second set of eyes for the inspection. I've already got a boatload of accessories waiting for it to come home, and I had the home charger installed in my garage last month. Would love to know how you set up your Tesla’s Stock audio as a sound engineer. Test drove one and it was crisp and clear sounded really good with classical music, however it sounded dead with hip hop or really any other genre. Coming from a solid B&O stock system.

    • @MikeSeuss
      @MikeSeuss  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not sure if you checked out the standard system on the base model 3’s or the premium system that comes in the performance model. It’s absolutely one of the best sound systems out there. And fun fact: The design and sourcing for the car’s audio parts were completed by engineers previously employed by Bang & Olufsen, they were tasked to source parts that are better than the premium B&O systems in the Audi A8. I mostly keep my settings flat across the board with a slight boost to the lows and that’s it!

    Love your videos Mike. My wife and I are curious. We live in Las Vegas. We know people driving Teslas and they say their registration renewal cost always stays the same year after year. Gas cars seem to decrease over time. Any idea why this is?

    • @MikeSeuss
      @MikeSeuss  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much for your kind words and support! 🚗⚡️
      That's an interesting observation about the registration renewal costs in Las Vegas. Vehicle registration fees can vary significantly from state to state, and sometimes even within states, depending on local laws and regulations. Generally, electric vehicles (EVs) like Teslas might have different fee structures compared to traditional gasoline vehicles.
      A few potential reasons could be:
      Flat Fees: Some states impose a flat registration fee for electric vehicles, which doesn't depreciate over time like it might for gas cars.
      EV Incentive Policies: To promote the adoption of EVs, some regions may have policies to keep registration costs stable to not dissuade potential and current EV owners with increasing fees.
      Additional Fees: In some areas, EVs are subject to additional fees to compensate for the lack of gasoline tax contributions toward road maintenance, which might keep the renewal cost consistent.
      It might be helpful to check the Nevada DMV website or get in touch with them for a precise explanation regarding the fee structure for EVs in Las Vegas.
      I hope this gives you a bit of insight, and perhaps other viewers from Las Vegas might chime in with their experiences!
      Happy driving to you and your wife!

    Hey Mike - like somoe one already said below - the new LFP battery in all new 2023 Tesla Model 3s from now on, like to be charged to 100% all the time. So you cant top it up every night and its not bad for it like it was for the older Model 3 that came before the LFP battery update (in mid 2022). People who bought a 3 in the transition period - ie mid 2022 to 2023 (including Australia where I am from), depednming on wherther it was made in the US or China, need to find out which battery they have - so they charge it accordingly. Please correct your video...

    There is another way regarding the Tesla Wall charger that you should mention, Mike. Having a 14-50 outlet installed in your house would be more cost efficient. You'd still more than likely need an electrician to route power to your garage, but you get to avoid Tesla's 500 price tag on the wall charger. The NEMA 14-50 adapter is currently $45 on Tesla's site (was $35 like two weeks ago) and will help your Model 3 charge at a rate of 30mi/hr... still more than enough to top off overnight.

    • @MikeSeuss
      @MikeSeuss  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks I’ll make sure to mention this in a future video!

    • @olegsafronov9936
      @olegsafronov9936 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think only lazy people do not know about 14-50 nowadays. The issue is that you "save" $400 on actual outlet, while there is still installation cost of $500-1500 depending on your configuration. And this "saving" will not allow you to have smart feature of, for instance, two Tesla Wall Chargers speaking to each other when you've got another Tesla in your family (so they charge following some queue pattern). So, 14-50 is a good option, but definitely not the best for everyone. And this potentially will increase your budget for the case when you have more than 1 EV in the family so you'll need to go back to Tesla Wall Charger or run another powerline to have second 14-50.

    • @iamdaviddoliver
      @iamdaviddoliver 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@olegsafronov9936 the NeoCharge device is a good option for folks with a single Nema outlet. It is $500 so the savings will take a hit, but that device has 2 connectors that allow you to intelligently charge 2 EVs or an EV and a dryer for those folks who need to share the plug. It’s what I use so I don’t have to run 2 circuits.

    • @olegsafronov9936
      @olegsafronov9936 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@iamdaviddoliver Of course! So, instead of normal working solution you pay for extra device, it's installation and all that "savings" just diminished. It's good there is an option, for sure! But at this moment of time all solutions to replace Tesla Wall Charger sound like a duct tape solution :)

    • @iamdaviddoliver
      @iamdaviddoliver 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@olegsafronov9936 there is no cost of installation and for me it’s cheaper than the cost of installing a new run so it worked for me.

    The portable charger is more than fine. Who only charges 8 hours a day? Most people are home by 5-6pm and leave the house 7-8am. That’s a good 30-40 miles PER NIGHT of charging. Zero need to get the station unless you drive more than 30-40 per day. Also, on weekends it will charge over 100 miles if you don’t use it just one weekend.

      Are you planning to keep the car for 10 years? What if your car got hit? Will insurance cover the PPR replacement ? I am wondering why people don't often do this on their ICE cars but often talking about this in their Tesla cars

    • @MikeSeuss
      @MikeSeuss  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No im not planning to keep the car for 10 years, ff course PPF is not for everyone as you made that clear however there are a ton of advantages of PPF which most people care about. One of which protects your car from paint chips and deep scratches which lowers the resale value. Also, yes, I have PPF on my Porsche as well which got damage from road debris and the cost of the PPF was included in the payout. Not sure if this is with all insurances. It may not be worth it to YOU, but you shouldn't speak for everyone.
