Would you rather ride a Downhill or Trail bike for an enduro event? Let us know in the comments! 👇
A trail bike these days is a light framed enduro. I would have said downhill but the gearing would be a killer on the ups.
Love that Ann is doing her own challenge!
i would have to use the bike i have a 2015 trail bike short travel, but as you say if you're used to it that's the best bike. congrats on the result, when did this event take place? that rain was horrendous.
Trail. Use my skills for the downhill (Blake's Megavalanche) in mind. And I can get up the hills easier than downhill bike
Today an enduro bike is a downhill bike with "short" travel fork. Good for descent but very hard to climb. A Trail bike is more like 4x4. Is more real for everything.
"The best bike is the one you have". This statement says it all. Just get out there and ride. Anna....you killed it!
gotta love the energy she brought to the event. awesome work
@@pinky6863 it all about n+1.
She was first place being "under biked". This video really does show that being under biked isn't a big deal at all.
False statement.
@@kevinburke1325 Not exactly false. This whole thing of XC and Enduro and all mountain are honestly just disciplines of racing but used by bike corporations as labels to sell average people a bike. An XC now can handle an enduro trail. Enduro bikes can race in an XC race (demonstrated by Anna). All mountains bikes can race in Enduro. So it's all just smoke and mirrors. Just buy a good bike and get out on your local trails or races!
day 3 looked like absolute hell and yet Anna was still laughing. bulletproof lady. crazy ride! thank you
Day and night, dry and wet for 3 days is brutal. Huge congrats on just getting through it! I loved this vloggy style race weekend video. Brilliant job, Anna!
"Well, this is sub-optimal." Candidate for Understatement of the Year, right there! Edit to add after watching the full video...Congratulations, Anna! Also, that trophy is pretty cool.
Anna is a beast! Congrats on the win. I love the fact that you go out and have fun laughing the whole time. I also love that it's authentic showing caution and crashes like an average rider would have. We need more videos like this and more Anna please.
This was amazing fun to watch. Anna has become one of my favorite presenters. Maybe one of these days she will weld up her own hardtail...
Anna is amazing!!! She is a very strong and skilled rider! XC, Cyclocross, Enduro; she can win them all on a commuter bike! I think it’s more the rider than the bike! And I LOVE her personality too! I wish I could be like Anna!
Love Anna. She is awesome!
11:49 🤣🤣🤣
Awesome video, Anna is great.
😅👍
Anna is so great, always smiling, always laughing!
One of the best GMBN videos in long time!
That looked brutal so massive props to Anna for getting through it and taking the win!
In terms of bike choice from my entirely novice point of view those trails looked so tight and twisty that I'd have thought a 140-150mm bike would be struck a nice balance. A big, slack enduro bike would have been challenging to get round a lot of those corners especially in the wet with reduced traction. Throw in the energy used getting up to speed after each slow turn and I'd have thought it would have really drained a person after a couple of days?
Anna what a brilliant effort, you should be so proud. Those last 2 days were so bad weather wise and no Smith glasses.Your a legend.
Great work..!!! I use 150 mm front and rear travel trail bike for XC to enduro tracks…. And congrats to Anna who won the race in her category…!!!
Anna's an absolute unit
Despite a few thrills and spills, that was an awesome effort Anna and congratulations on the win!
Without even watching the video yes it can, cause I've been using my 120 rear 130 front short travel trail bike as an enduro bike for years now with no problems
Well done Anna! That definitely did not look easy, but you toughed it out and won - great job! Funnily enough watching this makes me want to do an enduro - I only have a trail bike and this proved that it could work, even in foul conditions.
Thanks for such an enjoyable video!
Do it! Enduros are so fun! You won't regret it.
Well done Anna you really captured the riding that weekend congrats on the win. I’m surprised that Sunday went ahead given the thunder, lightning and a months worth of rain in one day.
Well done Anna, big respect for that effort 💪
Have really enjoyed this video and Isaac’s eMTB adventure, recently. Makes me want to try both of those events. Great work to all involved!
Great viewing, well done Anna. I ride an Atherton AM130 with a build suited to light trails/xc (also an updated 1998 Kona Kilauea owned from new) have some long time ago xc racing experience with the Kona; your video is tempting me to enter a modern Enduro type event...perhaps not a 3 day one, that looked brutal!
Might be only 125 but that bike is more than capable of eating up most of what you can throw at it in an enduro!! Nice race well done!!!
Well Good Anna! It was fun to watch your adventure and I dig the idea of under-biking. It is a kind of simplification that can be applied in many ways. I will be trying my own version in the near future. I hope to see more of you and the crew getting after adventures like this. Cheers - M
Well done dude!! Massive respect. Love your positive attitude throughout! You should do a vid on a positive mental attitude and having fun as opposed to just wanting to win and see the outcome. Well done again
Congrats. Awesome video. Thank you for the hard work & great content.
Great Job Anna! that was some extreme conditions... like a literal river going downhill. Awesome job!
Great job Anna! Congrats on your win!
I did a short Enduro on a marathon bike. Had riding those trails before. Had no problem with it. More suspension would have been great. I think you can do most things on any bike as long as you have slightly longer travel.
Wow, good job Anna. Well done.
Well done Anna, gratz! "Best bike is the one U have!" This is so true! My only bike is a 27.5" Enduro and I also doin Bikepacking trips with it. Go ridin and have fun is the only thing matters! 👍🏼😎💚
Well done Anna!!!
That was a great event. The Sunday was my best day on the bike this year😂
Fair play, that weather was minging🌧 I would have packed up and gone home day 2 like a proper fair weather biker 😁
congratulations, great results!
Love the video, Anna, looked like a real adventure 👍
That was great! Congratulations Anna🎉
"ohh it's slippy, init" is the most British thing I've heard LOL
Just everyday riding in the UK, when is it not slippy in the woods
Once again you proved that the rider is way more important than the bike, congrats look like you had fun.
Well done Anna! Enjoyed every bit of this vlog. And congratulations! Tough ride but you did great on a short travel bike! 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
First of all, brilliant job done Anna. Great vlog and love the on-board commentary regardless of the trail and or conditions, which, to be honest, looked pretty brutal at times! I have a couple of questions; 1) Can you give us an idea of your riding kit used over the course of the three day, especially considering the changing conditions. 2) What tyre and bike setup did you use, did you change much during the three days, apart from flipping the chip! Keep up the awesome work, great to watch you and your enthusiastic approach to all things MTB! 😎
Congrats Anna. That was a great to watch you challenge yourself in those conditions. You are quite a trooper! Thanks GMBN for bringing us these great people stories. Adds that more personal touch to the channel. Highly enjoyed this.
Excellent - chapeau! So you won because you really fought and gave it all - and because your choice of bike wasn't THAT bad ;o)
Well done Anna... excellent effort 👊
Loved the video!
This was awesome! Well done!
I definitely would prefer to be Underbiked. Great job Anna! I’ve put this race on my bucket list!
Well done Anna what an absolute slog that race was.👏
I started on a 140mm trail and always felt like it was the chatter getting to me.. recently I bumped the fork up to 150mm and now the small chatter and even the bigger stuff is easier.. can't wait to graduate to the Big Mountain travel fork!!!!!!
Bravissima Anna, complimenti. Another vid killing it. Keep ‘em coming, seriously good. Though you should have borrowed Blake’s camper…😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I underbike all the time with my 130mm hardtail, like you say, the best bike is the one you have. Epic comment we should all live by, also remembering it’s rider that makes the bike, not the bike that makes the rider…
Looked like a fun but hard enduro,Anna! Well done though!
Great effort!! Well Done Anna.
Great video, that looked like a good race set up. It would be great to see Anna at the MacAvalanche in Fort William next year, just saying.
well done Anna, very impressive rides
Well done on the win!
Congratulations! Nicely done. I love that there was no pre riding the sections.
Congrats! Some nasty trails to slide around and you made it look fun.
Love it....That background music tough...
Brilliant!! Anna you suffer fest has made me kit up to ride on a post tropical storm rainy day? Thank you.
Congrats Anna , still very decent spot to win , i would say
Really enjoyed that
In the process of switching my enduro/trail bike from a trek slash to a forbidden druid v2 👌
Yes man that is a sick bike! I swapped from a Spec Enduro to a Giant Trance 29er and I'm having a ton of fun, much more engaging to ride and with the modern geo they handle the rowdy stuff beautifully, you just get pinged around a little more compared to a long travel bike.
Few background shots of my good self, we had lots of fun marshalling and riding a bunch of the stages 😁
I know the answer is yes, but we always get hooked by the content.
I was very impressed Anna. I have a race today and will be taking inspiration from your efforts.
It's mainly all about the rider! 💪
Anna RULES🤘
Nice work
Weldone Anna , amazing
If I had the space at home, i would have a bike for every category but with limited space all i need is a trail bike & road bike.
I manage blues reds and blacks on a Hope1.30, but mostly at a slow speed @643/4
:)
Never had a problem with a short travel bike so long as the setup is dialed in. That said, I wouldn't venture too far from norm.
Anna you are a bloody force of nature! Fabulous job!
Next time, hardtail?
GMBN and GCN honestly have the best presenters, willing to kill it (and themselves) for us! Love it!
Congrats
Great video - I wish more Enduros were "blind" enduros. Always hard to compete against locals.
Great job Anna ❤it
She did amazing! 👊
Well done Anna
Anna! 🥰
HUZZAH !!! Well done Anna ... more MTB chicks !!!
‘Well this is sub-optimal’ 😂
Go Anna! You're ardcore!
Anna, you studied how to clip in under the best of the best like Matt Stephens, didn't you? I mean, there's clearly something in it, the result doesn't lie. 👏🙇♂
Three days of managing not to swear!.. well done 🙂
Hey, Anna! Was it easier on the Nuke? Awesome vid!
With you to the end of the world 💜✨
Short travel makes a person a better rider, at the cost of additional fatigue. However, I am pretty sure Blake could have raced that 4-day multi-stage on his Nukeproof Scout hardtail whilst making it look easy.
Done a few 24hr solos.
The best bike in my opinion is a 130mm trail bike.
id love to see Anna do Mega avalanche , Blake, i got another student for you mate
Did you say the brightness of the bike lamp? Very curious!
Im a big fan of being under-biked. That's why my go to is a rigid single speed.
Cannot find the video she mentions in the beginning about XC on Trail bike. Where is it?
Is there somewhere all these events are listed/advertised? Its really hit and miss otherwise
SI Entries
Is this spectral 125 or regular one?
😅I would have found it really funny if Blake had participated with his scout and you had compared your experiences.
Hey Anna! What's that strap you have under the top tube?
On log rides, I prefer my trail bike with 140 front and 130 mm rear travel.
What is the exact model of the bike? I thought it is a 125 cf6? Isn’t it?
what is that on arm u have to wear?
