Once things are up to temp and the rather hits it certainly is. To be honest I feel the same about brass progressing, most folks hate it, and while I'm not excited to do it, I usually find I'm enjoying it while doing it ha.
When I was young we were poor,I had boxes of birdshot but not buck shot so I used fishing weights empty the birdshot out fill it with weights and granted you had to get within 40 yards of a deer but I probably killed 15 deer over the years with that combo,
My dad retired from Dupont too. Worked there from ages 18 to 62 when they offered him early retirement. In Virginia, not South Carolina though. Still have half a roll of Tyvek at my grandmother's house 15+ years later that we use to put on the picnic tables when we have family reunions. lol
*Interesting side note: .295" pellets might stack ' four per layer ' in 'some' wads, such as CB1138-12 , WAA12R , CB2118-12 , 12S3, Remington SP12 and Fig-8...and some others.*
Turkey season almost open here in maine. Excited. Sure we only have a handful of places where monsters are, but theres so many turkey here now that most of the community veiwes them as a nuisance/pest, and as such many landowners love having hunters ask to hunt em. Having gotten used to commercial turkey, most people dont like the taste, but i personally could care less. All about the prep/cooking. My new toy is one of the italian hydrant molds from svarog i finally got hand on. Got 1 other on the way but itll be a few week yet. Cant wait to work up for a potential hunting slug in certain areas.
Hey Wade , after casting a few times in my new DO IT mold I was pouring 50 lbs of lead for 10 lbs of pellets with all those big sprues. I repeatedly watched your videos on this the suddenly noticed your sprues were not poured to the top of the sprue channel. Unlike many molds that pretty much require this to get pellets/bullets filled out all the way this mold obviously doesn’t require that. Just something I noticed a bit different than other types of molds and saves going through so much lead in a single casting session with so little yield
Great stuff Bubba. I've got a 1/3 ton of wheel weight ingots but get'n a Martys mold here in Australia was way over $200 last time I looked. A T buck would suit me just fine for fox but not when it's hard to pay the rent. Love ya wotk mate.
Thanks as always. Love your out of the box experiments and tests. Especially to save the regular guy money. BTW, while wearing your t-shirt out and about, I got a rip in it. So... I ordered another one today. Spreading the word in Arizona.
I have the same mold. They do come out rough but if you tumble them they finish up nice. One side makes 37cal and the other side comes out just a hair over 30cal. Last load of wheel weights I got didn't have many made of lead.
I have the same mold, I get apx 30 cal and 375 cal. I call it #1 and 0000 buck. It takes a lot of tumbling to get decent pellets. I have had to resort to buying reclaimed birdshot from Roto.
I always wait a min. And rewatch your videos again. Do you have a video showing how to apply the non-stick spray? I found a deal on e-bay for a lee #00 .33 combo mold. Looking for this do- it. And would like to see how to treat before using.
I would hate to see the machines GM is using to deck their heads. After you sprayed the dye it looked like 80 on a rotary, so maybe a big belt sander would be an upgrade for GM? 😂🥃
There’s something to casting buck and slugs, it’s so therapeutic to the soul 💫
Amen...

And when you can't do it you can always turn on Wade and relax 😊
The sprue on those would make for some impressive projectiles in their own right.

I did a video on that brother! Search; fishing lead for buckshot.
We’d absolutely love to follow the entire process. We enjoy what you offer us already
I’ve only seen a few of your episodes since I purchased the new Beretta 1301, I love the chickens singing in the background
You are going to love the 1301, mine has been my go to hog gun. Good luck with it.
