I am no race car driver. It is nice to see people actually push a performance car to the limit. I personally love the viper because it is simple. The purpose of the car is simple, big engine, stick shift, big tires, 50/50 weight distribution, badass side exhaust.
R 100: It is sad to see the Viper go. It seems like they just got it to the level it belongs at. Love the body style of the last generation. Gorgeous car to say the least.
@@funny-bv6lo A Super Muscle. Muscle is just another word for American in the car world when it comes to power and speed. Well, anything V8 and above. That's my take on it. American Muscle is a thing of beauty.
It's the sales Berger, have no doubt about it. Sales were stagnant enough that they halted the plant several times. Look at the production numbers. It's business, if you have demand and the sales/recoup of investment, you keep building the car, plain and simple. Airbag regulations have nothing to do with it, only to the extent that the current car, without further investment, cannot continue to meet regulation requirements. The money isn't there, because the buyers weren't there. Like you said...ACR didn't have a problem to the small niche market it serves, but you're talking under 5000 units sold over the span of years. FCA lost money on the car, without question. It's a great car...NA, manual transmission, huge aero...problem is, masses of Murica don't want that...they want PDK and paddles and infotainment, etc. ACR is legend...but it's dead....for now.
Incredible run man! Without a doubt you were giving it 10tenths. Thanks for taking me along for that run! Iam tunnel visioned after watching that, makes we want to go through some gears now.
The ACR is a track monster... Really would love to grab a 17 with low miles in a couple years... But hey who wouldn't... Lol.. And yes very nice driving bud.. I can see it's no joke trying to handle one of those at high speeds.. Very nice.
Man I remember that car last year at the drags, I was recording you pull up in awe. I have a RT/10 and am here at the drags now, was hoping to see you here!!!!
@turn 3 the moment you only see sky and the g forces telling you all this climbing has to drop off at some point and with faith only drivers can commit you keep your foot planted and trust that the sky you see will soon be the racing line you need to jab brake before the all so fun turn 6 high speed corner. I never have the vigilance to let my right tires touch the apex on that exit. You were more brave on first lap for that final corner wot left foot braking.. good times. It feels like the acr sits lower than a regular srt.. i noticed the wheel looks like it corners lighter vs the srts visibly noticeable heavy steering. Cheers!
Have you ever tried 'Nascar Racing 2003 Season' on PC? This was my favourite track. Certain NASCAR guys used it to practice and a rookie contributed it to his win.
+Darius khashabi Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Martin Truex Jr. practiced in it. Denny Hamlin won his first race at Ponoco Raceway and said "They got every tree on the site, everything's mapped out perfect. Visually, I know where my letoff points are. I honestly didn't think it would be this easy." Give it a go if you get a chance. Steering wheel and pedals are pretty much a must unless you are able to drive with a joystick. I guess an xbox controller can work as well.
Superb driving! I couldn't keep up. Are you heel-toe'ing on downshifts? Couldn't tell. But, that is my biggest weakness when driving at pace - decelerating and setting up a turn.
The steering seems so light and agile even with effective amount for front down force and the 295 mm V720 front tires. I believe high front positive caster is also the reason why the steering is light and agile because strong power steer can only increase your steering input while high front positive caster will increase steering input and reduce under-steering. I can hear him applying gas so soon like (2:54) and the Viper is front-mid engine RWD, the rotational inertia is higher but the car didn't over-steer on apex and that goes to high down force. I can see the yaw angle is starting to affect by its own power at lower gears but the down force is holding it in shape. Beside down force and chassis tuning, I think Viper also has a good torque curve, the car is so stable through turns at higher gear before reaching 5,000 rpm. ACR Viper is definitely a record braking car.
Axe and Shield You already said this exact same comment and it's such an empty statement. "Ya well it doesn't matter cus porshe can build the same car if they wanted to" ...are you like 12? Are you not here because you like cars? Why not show appreciation for what the viper is capable of as a car lover instead of having for no real reason.

Im American, i drive a german car (bmw 335i) ..i love cars no matter what nation they are built, im not nearly as childish as you so i dont harbor pointless hatred.
