My old Peugeot 107 still purrs like a kitten after 240.000km (149129 miles). Best engine ever. Also new'ish engine can be had for like 4k, and it's as easy as wiping your rear to install. This car is amazing. Low fuel cost and low insurance cost. Also dirt cheap to repair.
Nice vid. Love my 2010 C1 even though all my cars before it have been bigger, faster, posher, more comfortable, better equipped etc. The 107/C1 have real character and definitely the spiritual successor to the original Mini. Well suited to someone/couple without kids or dogs, who spend most of their time driving at 50mph or less. I've been driving for over 30 years and always had a soft spot for lightweight cars (this thing is only about 800kg) and accept there is a bit of noise, it's part of the experience.
been driving my dad's C1 2013 for aprox a year and a half now, and been watching quite some youtube vids about those great little cars, but you have thrown some new (engine(failure)) knowledge in this vid which is new for me, so great thanks for me learning even more about 'my Chrissy' 🙂
I have a 2009 C1: clutch repaired, drives OK but still leaking water in the back after replacing backlights, no AC, no electric windows no central locking and doorlocks are gone, waiting for repairs. Still good fun to drive, tanking once a month.
Try sealing up around the third brake light to stop the rain water leaking into the boot in addition to the rear side light clusters if that’s what you meant. Other things to check are the air vent behind the rear bumper and the rear hatch seal itself.
@@corvanha1 Unless I’m very much mistaken the vents are there to stop pressure build up when you close the doors and allow airflow in the cabin in general. All cars have this in some form. I don’t think it has anything to do with air conditioning.
I've had my 2014 c1 platinum edition for a week now and after driving automatics for the last 10-15 years i have to keep reminding myself there is a 3rd pedal there hahaha...but great little car.. definately a keeper for me

Thanks for the kind words. These cars are at their best in the city. Although you can drive them on highways, you have to keep in mind that they are quite light and the engine is not so powerful. This means in strong winds you feel the car being blown around somewhat and passing cars at speed is difficult. I hope this advice helps.
@@Biggles the car was really loud and shaky but I've done it on multiple times. Had to sell her a couple of weeks ago, because of a few technical issues. Will miss her. Reliable car, drove 38.000 km's in 1,5 years.
Hey this sound of your citybug is normal? That's sound like a piston slap. I am looking at one citybug to buy and it's also has piston slaps when it's cold after short test drive that noise is gone and i don't know to buy it or no. It has 151kkm and it's c1 2010
Hi! Good question. This example always sounded the same and I've only ever driven Citybugs with over 80k miles. To my ear this one doesn't sound too bad, but I may be wrong. If in doubt I would usually say don't buy when it comes to cars. There are always others out there, especially Citybugs.
@@Biggles To my ear that doesn't sound too bad and much people comment other videos with this and say that's normal for this engine. And after checking all spots in car from your video this is all good and there is only one thing locks but owner says it's been always opened from car remote control. Only other thing is this engine it's not loud, with open hood we can talk normally and after a while this sound is gone.
What I mean is that windy weather will push you around on the motorways, as will passing large lorries. These are not a good long distance cruiser. They have to work hard to maintain 70 mph. They just weren’t designed for heavy lifting.
Not brilliant I’m afraid. They are relatively light and therefore susceptible to crosswinds. Also the engine has to work quite hard to maintain higher speeds, so it will be noisy and harder work to drive.
@@GlossaME I got the car in a meantime (citroen C1 2013) and i am very happy with the highway performance as well! @@JH-ed4mm I appreciate our viewpoints are subjective :) Objectively then the auto is slower and returns less MPG then the manual. However it is easier on the left leg (ankle/knee) than the manual in slow moving and start/stop traffic.
@@north.by.northeast Their top speed is the same and according to the spec the MPG is equal although in practice it is a bit lower in the automatic, but just a small difference.
