Father Larry Richards is awesome thank you for your inspiring words and knowledge on God's word especially the knowledge of Catholicism the one and only true faith of Jesus Christ thank you we need more priests like you who are on fire for the word
I'm a guy watching this video, but I found that Father Larry hit it home on all of the points he needed to make!(and make it funny and entertaining at the same time!)
Wonderful preacher he could be on more often. He inspires. How come we do not see him anymore? Where do these videos come from? Hope to see him soon. My mom used to watch him in 2014.
Thanks for speaking what many priests on Sundays don't speak about. I'm a convert of over 20 years from the Baptist faith. Great to see you encouraging Catholics to use the Bible daily. Your in my prayers. Questions you say pray for parents even if they weren't Catholic? I have sometimes.
The present is a gift. In the present moment God is giving us Jesus in the present. The past, thefuture are different than the present. All of our time though is faithfully planned for the present time. The Alpha and the Omega of the presents the beginning and end. And all time.
+Virginia Arellano-Cardenas Until Fr. Larry's book comes out, you might want to read Penny Nance's new book, Feisty and Feminine. Just came out this week.
Deb Riddell if I understand correctly, Adam is the one who was to step up as the head of the family/couple to defend his wife from Satan, even if it cost him his life. Similar to the way Christ dies for all of mankind and similar to the sacrament of Marriage where men are called to give their life for their wife and family and his wife is to submit to her husband, only if the husband is living to do God's will. Adam, like majority of men in the world today was too scared of Satan, scared of death, or had too little faith in God to follow through with His one commandment. That's what I understand of it at least. Just felt I'd offer my understanding of it since noone else offered an answer.
D. Riddell: In the account of the fall, you are correct. They did both have the same moral responsibility. But, as usually seems to be true when I study scripture, there are lessons within lessons, which I think is what Fr. Larry is getting at. As a man, it is my job to make sure my wife’s (and my children’s) path to heaven is as easy as I can make it and free from as many impediments as I can remove. Eve disobeys God but Adam was right there when she did. He stood by, so to speak, and let his beloved take the brunt of it. Eve may have been disobedient but Adam goes for the grand slam - he disobeys God, he blames his wife for his disobedience, he let’s his wife confront evil alone, and he isn’t man enough to take responsibility for any of it. His job was to, literally, die to keep her safe. I wish I had had all of those ideas firmly fixed in my head when I was younger. I think I may have avoided some grief.
Myself I've always wondered why did Adam react when she handed him the apple. Father Larry pretty much refers to what marriage as Sacrement is all about and the role of men and women to each other!
It's sad, cause if people really loved God so much, they'd make sure they were in the right church that Jesus started. They'd make sure they did the proper historical research etc...but most people just blindly believe they're in the right church, and some choose to stay in their church for selfish reasons. Like staying in the 'feel good' churches. I pray that these people are ignorant and that God has mercy on them for their ignorance.
I decided to read the comments here before looking at the video to get a sense of what it was about. There is so much belittling of women in these comments that I don't think this video will be of any benefit to me. Jesus treated women as intelligent human beings who were responsible for the salvation of their own souls. He didn't suggest that they should be subservient to men anywhere in the New Testament. He treated Martha and Mary as equals, telling Mary that Martha was correct to spend her time listening to his words rather than doing housework. He spoke to the woman at the well even though the apostles were shocked by him speaking to a woman. In my opinion, both Adam and Eve were equally wrong in what they did if that story is correct. A lot of the Old Testament doesn't sound like it came from God - "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth". Jesus rejects this and tells us to turn the other cheek. I will follow the word of Jesus and his two commandments - "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind, and your neighbour as yourself". That is all I need.
"The Young Messiah" line, at the end, about his purpose left me thinking "What?" I forget what he said in the movie, but it was not bringing the truth and dying and rising to redeem us and make us His brothers and children of his father: The Father.
This is outrightly false & misleading Fr. when you claim that the great St Paul was wrong about Eve and you are right. It was NOT Adam's fault that Eve sinned as GOD has given every woman a body & soul just as he does every man and all have FREE WILL. Therefore each person is responsible & accountable for their own actions or lack therefore. Eve IS fully responsible & accountable for what she did as she was FULLY aware of GOD forbidding them to eat or touch that tree of the knowledge of good & evil but she deliberately decided after listening to the snake to disobey GOD's command. ST. Paul is absolutely RIGHT about Eve and you are NOT being truthful. Eve makes things doubly worse by inviting her hubby Adam to join her in sinning against GOD. Adam foolishly listens to his wife instead of opposing her sinful request & GOD reprimanded him for doing just that. No Fr. please do not mislead us.
Adam is the man he was created to protect all of creation. The man has the responsibility to protect his wife his children his household. To understand what Father is saying you would have to understand the role of man as given by God in the scripture. God loves families and marriage. Look at the example of the angel of death in Eygpt. The men were told to protect the house it was not the women who were called but the men to cover their door posts with blood. Look at Sarah and Abraham when Sarah brought Hagar to Abraham she initiated the sin but Abraham never refused and protected her and his marriage so when she told him to get rid of Hagar and he hesitated she said let Yahweh be the judge between me and you why because who would God judge harder for the sin. Most protestant pastors speak like this at men conferences like dr. Myles munroe who passed away or Voodie Bauchum. Catholic priest do not talk like this or about the fact they spend a lot of time fighting abortion telling people to vote for a certain candidate because of this one issue and thought I am in agreement. I think they should spend more time explaining to men their role and their purpose as the protestant pastors do. What came first the chicken or the egg? God created animals full size animals and same he created man first then marriage then family. The man is the head of the domestic church he should learn he has to lead protect provide and preside in his home. We should not just start with the laws of abortion we should also start with the foundation of all human life and society the man. If we build strong committed responsible men who understand what he should do protect there would be more men like st Joseph who step up and protect the mother and her unborn. We would have men who when they were voted in as Republican politicians would not just vote for prolife laws but also they would not change and soften the divorce laws that deter men from divorces and leaving their families as Chris Christie did. He actually made many democratic men happy with the changes he made to the divorce laws. The Catholic church teaches the man is the head of his domestic church some pastors even preach the man will have the greater punishment for not leading and protecting families. If you read Malachi 2 each priest was advised to protect his wife twice it is repeated be on your guard and see you are not unfaithful to your wife. The man has the greater responsibility. Unfortunately, I am not as good at explaining but here maybe these videos can help....look up the video the Male and the family by Myles munroe and making family a success. Or look up Voodie Bauchum and any of his videos on marriage and family. I know their sermons reflect the catholic churches stance on marriage and family but it needs to be said from the pulpit as a reminder to men and women the role of the family and marriage. Telling a young couple when they are giddy in love at a pre cana is not enough and with busy lives and little money how many couples go to marriage retreats? the message of fatima was that the last battle would be against marriage and the family. Men should be taught to protect like st. Joseph not be a coward like Adam!
@@COGmercy According to CCC every single human being is responsible for the sins they commit.
