I’m sure Fr. Larry is well known for his style and most priests don’t like it. I love Fr. Larry and I watch his morning mass on my phone and listen to his podcasts, but I agree with one commenter who said that it’s inappropriate to use these raw words in a church and while he’s speaking about God. But I think he’s just great! I think he likes to shake them up by being brutally honest… that’s his style.

I think the Lord called Fr Larry to the priesthood as the goal is to preach His word to all ends of the earth... some people (me included) respond better to raw truth.
Confession in itself can't just magically allow everyone to no longer be tempted by sins. Sinning against God's will is ultimately every humans choice. Buuuut on the plus side, confessing sins can help us sinners become more motivated in pleasing God and allow us to be able to push the temptations of sinning away more. Another plus side is that when we confess our sins God will gives us forgiveness of we are sincerely sorry. If you're worried about Confessing don't be. God is our loving father and wants us to be with him in Heaven. He is overjoyed when we confess because we are one step closer to being with him in Heaven. Hope this helped 🙂 God Bless!
It's not a big thing, but he has said in an earlier speech on confession that we're wimps if we don't confess to the priest face-to-face. Sure, he's In Persona Christi, but I think we will naturally see the priest and it will feel like we are preaching to the priest, instead of getting more the impression we are ultimately confessing to Christ.
So wrong about face to face! Picture an immodestly-dressed woman confessing horrible sexual sins in this context. Do we really want to do this to our good priests? In a confessional, we are on our knees and the priest more easily can give absolution in persona Christi. Fr Larry is 100% wrong about this. He needs to pray for modesty and humility. We should all pray for him.

Fr. Larry never said any such thing: that the pope is without sin. Even the worst popes NEVER taught that sin is now OK -- even they never lost their gift of infallibility. Infallibility does not mean without sin. It means without error when teaching from the Chair about faith and morals. While it would be wonderful if whomever sat in the Chair also obeyed the teaching, no pope has ever changed teaching because the Holy Spirit guards that Teaching. It is scandalous -- a sin -- to decry the pope -- because he has never CHANGED the Teaching. No Catholic has to "like" the pope, but to publicly speak against him to others creates scandal. If one doesn't like him -- fine. Just keep it to yourself. It seems pretty simple.
I know speakers can't cover everything, but I think we need to listen critically, so we don't omit what the speaker did in error or in needing to generalize. We should not listen in awe (a risk at preaching circuits), but to be reminded of some things or maybe hear something solid we haven't heard before. We should pray for the priests because, as one saud, they can fall to pride in being popular to a contingent of church-goers that appreciate their work. An example of a concerning thing he said: I think Fr. Larry is mistaking temporary laws, which are changeable rules and disciplines when done properly, for doctrine. Church teaching is doctrine, which is infallible. Why would he make all these speeches so passionately about what can change at the inspiration or whim of a pope or college of cardinals?

You have a poor understanding of priestly duties. Learn. If you have come across a priest who behaves poorly, you've simply met a sinner -- like yourself. Become aware of Teaching so if it happens, you have the tools to admonish the priest or bring it to the attention of his bishop. Stop playing a victim and learn. I do not say this harshly or without concern.

Can confession. In itself free you from your sins? Free in stopping recurring habitual sins?

First of all there are suppost to be no eulogies at Catholic funeral Masses.
@@Charity-vm4bt That is correct. The Mass is Christ-centered. An eulogy is person-centered. It is fine as part of a remembrance celebration outside of the Most Holy and Sacred Mass, but it is not to be included within it.
