I don’t see how that logic fails. I cheated a lot in college and it cause me to lose hope in my education because it was so easy. I realized everyone was just lying their way to the top. I dropped out because I cheated all the time and never got caught. And I never cheated in high school. I had loans, scholarships, and jobs to pay for it. I’m employed. That was longer ago then I care to admit to. My sons went to school on athletic scholarships and college savings plans. They both finished and got jobs. I agree that the students on these campuses we see on TH-cam and in the news do fit your description. So far as I know, you still need to meet academic criteria to be accepted into colleges. @@Pumbear For the false report, I think he deserves some jail time. Maybe six months to a year (I'm no judge or lawyer just my opinion). They cut deals for minor incidents like that all the time but he took it to another level when he went on TV and and promoted his story about racism and President Trump being responsible.

Were you in a red state but in a blue area? Or a blue state in a blue area? There is a big difference.
People only go this crazy when they feel like everybody feels exactly like them. I graduated in NC 2012, a red state (hopefully continuing) but in a blue area. Much more tolerance for opposing views and a greater diversity of thought being expressed than going to an ultra liberal zone like a University campus within a traditionally Democratic Party state. Young republicans are tolerated, not discriminated against, if something racist happens to a student (a well respected student athlete being called a nigger), the whole student body comes to support the respected individual and shame the intolerance and ignorance.
I don't remember anyone trying to shut down any speaker in my four years there. In fact the whole student body just gets a kick out of the insane preacher man who comes yearly and tells all the students, based on his assumptions of them, that they will go to hell. Fuck that guy, unilateral trolling ensues.
I think though, around 2015?, the tides have shifted, and this kind of behavior has become more common, albeit not nearly as bad as in other States or other campuses. But some male Biology and psychology professors took a stance against the force-fed, PC transgender and gender binary madness, would not back down their views when compelled to by mouthy students, not staff. Were attempted to be removed by salty individuals via witch hunt tactics. Still teach there.
It's probably gotten worse, but not super shitty, I wouldn't know though, haven't been back in several years.
I gotta say though, some of these kids in this video are pretty free thinkers, albeit not willing to be very vocal about it due to perceived threats of bucking against the status quo. Gives me a little hope. But in a State like CA where they don't have to select a republican as well as democratic candidate to be listed on the ballot, it's easy to see how some people get emboldened thinking "everyone thinks like I do, and if they don't they should"

Kenneth Warren I don’t know anyone who is currently a student so I can’t confirm or deny your statement. But I’m sure not EVERY student fits that description. I went to college to train for a career. I had loans, scholarships, and jobs to pay for it. I’m employed. That was longer ago then I care to admit to. My sons went to school on athletic scholarships and college savings plans. They both finished and got jobs. I agree that the students on these campuses we see on TH-cam and in the news do fit your description. So far as I know, you still need to meet academic criteria to be accepted into colleges. If this is still true then these students should be the ones that excelled in school and were deemed top applicants. That’s what scares me...that they are presumed to be the top of their class, but are so lacking in common sense and social intelligence.
TonyElbows I did recently read that the generation coming along AFTER these kids is much more conservative. Maybe we’ll rebound.

And some of those children might have been reasonable, few of them however were informed enough to see all sides of an issue. Which is possibly why they couldn’t defend their statements effectively.
