- Today, we go on a spiritual journey which includes trying to beat a celestial all powerful omnipotent man squid Moon Lord with a boomerang, and why stop there? Why NOT take on the mechanical bosses, an amalgamation of fear and indestructibility, with a banana? Fantastic! EXCELLENT, as some would say! Today, we attempt defeating Terraria with only boomerangs. No. No we will not challenge the Empress of Light with a boomerang. I'd rather eat nothing but microplastics for the rest of my life. He highlighted how underpowered these weapon types are and how some don’t have enough options.
Ironically, the Possessed Hatchet is actually my preferred way of fighting the Empress of Light as Melee. It's just so versatile and fast, and the homing aspect makes it one of the best Melee weapons to fight her with.

I love how literal bananas are unironically one of the best melee weapons available at the start of hardmode.

Seeing as you've experienced some modded terraria, the bangarang mod is amazing for a boomerang playthrough.

Alchemist npc’s spiderang(which can stack to 3) + a raised stack limiter = up to five spiderangs at a time. (Due to speed of weapon)

BUT GAWDAMN THESE VIDEOS ARE GREAT
Seeing you throw away boomerangs kind of hurt. You can actually combo boomerangs, which somewhat alleviates the biggest issue with the weapon type of having to wait for your boomerang to return to you before attacking again.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who gets TONS of hellstone and only uses a fifth of it. I always end up with around 200 hellstone bars "because i might run out"- me, every single terraria playthrough

Boomerangs are kind of an underrated weapon in terraria, but I've always loved finding an enchanted boomerang early on

Waffletime has become the voice that I think in when playing Terraria and working at the dollar store. Everytime I'm about to lose my mind I think something along the lines of "I'm going to chew tin foil with my fillings" in Waffle's voice and I feel moderately less enraged.

Bananarangs are actually amazing. Too bad they’re so hard to get. But if they were easy to get along with being that good, they’d probably end up needing to get nerfed. So I like how they are right now.

Fun fact: if you are using chlorophyte melee armor and attemping to max damage it is better to use cholo helm, monk chest and squire pants. it gives more offensive skills and only 5 less defense than turtle. you can also use hallowed hlem instead of chloro helm for 4 extra defense at the cost of 2% damage

Hey Waffle Time, loved the vid and hope the fam situation is going ok. Just a quick tip I found out just recently for prehard mode, the bundle of balloons makes for a really good mobility accessory if you're willing to go for it which the you can get before Eye of Cthulhu and essentially gives you wing like mobility.
That would be hard since sandstorm in a bottle is only in desert temples

I feel like the crimson would have been better for this run. There aren't any world evil-specific boomerangs, ichor flasks exist, and the brain of Cthulhu is WAY easier to deal with with boomerangs only than eater of worlds.

I seriously thought to myself “I should attempt a boomerang playthrough” and then less than an hour later I get this video recommended to me. Am I being watched?
I have not evenwatched the video yet but i can confirm that searching for a wooden boomerang is going through hell and back. I went to the right side of my world surface, looted it completely of wooden chests, yet no boomerang. The left side was up next and oh god did it take long. I needed to go through the big ass fighting so many things, and then a big ass corruption biome. Absolutely amazing. I eventually decided to just platform above it as it was not worth it and i eventually did get my hands on a wooden boomerang at almost the end of the world in a corruption biome.
Waffle could have made the light disc boomerang if he defeated the destroyer first which is an insane upgrade but super forgotten😅
