I think you should return that animal to his mother! It’s wrong to keep it. When it gets bigger you won’t be able to control it. Then you drop him off somewhere and he won’t know how to care for himself. Return it now, before you do any damage to this animal. It’s a wild animal and should not be kept as a pet.
Some poacher probably had to kill it's mother to get the baby in the first place. Baboons are extremely protective of their young and sadly she probably didn't just hand this little guy over without a fight. It sucks this happens but the exotic pet trade is a huge money maker and as long as it's lucrative people will keep doing it.
Do you know that personally if it’s an American monkey owner, they keep their monkeys. Majority of monkey owners keep their monkeys. It’s only the ones in Asia they use them for money that do that and monkeys are in full adult until they’re four years old. You’re still babies within a year.
Irregardless of the fact that I think BABY BABOONS are as cute as hell, there's so much evidence that dismisses owning these animals as pets is a productive venture.

I do not understand why people insist they can parent a monkey. It is a sick fantasy that victimizes the monkey, A child raised by dogs , chimps or wolves will never be totally at home in human society. The window for human speech is under 3 years, and imprinting that they are not human leaves leaves them in a no-man's land. It has been tried to force the child to act human, wear clothes, walk upright, eat at a table, learn to use a toilet. It does not work , causes stress to a child that has grown up with animals and they want to return to what they see as their home and parent group. tHESE CHILDREN ARE CONSIDERED fREAKS. a HUNANIZED MONKEY IS A FREAK OF NATURE . Monkey groups that live too close to villiages and people show heightened aggression within the group and mothers who abuse or abandon their babies. That should tell you something.

I do not think they are cute. Maybe bc I know they grow up very mean. I don't think the adults are cute either. Capuchin and Macaque are cute even into adulthood. Any wild baby animal taken from a very young age can be cared for by a human but their natural instincts and genetic predispositions of responding to fear or threats can be catastrophic and deadly.
Maybe they have to be aggressive in the wild it doesn't make them mean look at macaques they are or can be quite brutal we won't even discuss chimps . It's all circumstances environment and nature really just like humans.

Well I am not sure whatever happened to Moana. The last video they were taking her to meet some friends and were driving into the Airport and that is the last we saw of her.
I have watched several videos of baby baboons and adult baboons and this type of monkey is very greedy and selfish when they get bigger believe me! You could not give me one of these for a pet. What I have seen in other videos baboons get very very unruly later on. I'll bet the owner doesn't want to keep this monkey after it grows a little bit !!!

There’s all kinds of stuff on google about baboon attacks so that should be a warning. This baboon is so ugly it’s cute, but talk about a animal that does not stay adorable in any way. Maybe it’ll end up in a good sanctuary.

They are seldom pets which is surprising you would have found perhaps a secret society someplace that only you have a passcode to get into their chat room - because it is clear you do not have personal experience with them.

She's really cute and I get that it would be fun to do this with a baby, but how horribly unfair. Even if there was a legitimate reason she needed care from a human...she did not and should not have been in a home, dressed in baby clothes and treated like a human baby. It is impossible for anyone to keep a full grown baboon so what happens to her? She has no clue how to be a baboon and can't remain with these people. This is unfair and selfish and wrong
It's not safe, it's very dangerous, and you had better find that baby a home before it gets to be an adult, or you may find yourself either with no face, or six feet under.

There’s all kinds of stuff on google about baboon attacks so that should be a warning. This baboon is so ugly it’s cute, but talk about a animal that does not stay adorable in any way. Maybe it’ll end up in a good sanctuary.

@Snapper Organs - I have not seen anything on google regarding baboon attacks. As a matter of fact have seen none relating to baboons. They are seldom pets which is surprising you would have found perhaps a secret society someplace that only you have a passcode to get into their chat room - because it is clear you do not have personal experience with them.

I actually think that baboons one of the ugliest primates out there but this little monkey Moana the little noises are the cutest that I have ever heard and make her absolutely adorable no I do not believe that this poor creature should be kept as a pet it's not right I'm totally against it just making a comment about them cute little sounds and praying that she's not abused or harmed by the humans that have her anymore than they have already harmed her by taking her from her mother or from buying her illegally

Ownership NEVER but however taking it in as a new " family member " yes depending on circumstances if it's a rescue and you have no other choice but to keep it then keep it, learn EVERYTHING there is to learn and keep learning because the education is never ending. Never purchase one unless it's through a sanctuary and are simply paying a " rehoming fee ". I'm sure I could go on with my opinion for a long time but I'll end it here 🐒
