Hi must thank you, I have watched what feels like hundreds of bead videos to see if someone could show just a clear & slowly basic technique, which teaches to wrap wire loop that dangles, and bless your heart thank you! I am a beginner, with a eager heart and its so frustrating when you watch most videos and they say its so simple and I know they mean well but, I cant see or understand what they just did? So you have a loyal fan who will watch and learn as long as you put out videos to keep teaching!! hip hip hooray! for Beadaholique!
I'm so glad we could help Paula! Thanks so much for watching, it really is gratifying to see people continue to find our work through some of these earliest videos of ours. Here's a page with a collection of some of our best resources for beginning beaders, I hope you have fun: beadaholique.com/blogs/techniques-guides/intro-to-beading-101-getting-started-with-jewelry-making
Great instruction. One thing I like to do after I tuck my little tail or if I'm having trouble doing so with my chain-nose pliers is to use the front part of my crimping pliers-the round-on-round part-to tighten the coil a bit. Cleans up the coil nicely and makes it look a little more even.
Oh my goodness!! I have watched many videos showing this technique and I could never get it... I completely understood and followed right along and everything worked perfectly! You are a great teacher! Thank you so much!
This is one of those great skills that takes practice but which is so easy to practice. We've made so many earrings using just this technique and a few beads, hooks, and bits of wire.
Glad we could help! This technique opens up a whole world of easy beading, we've got a few hundred free project ideas here that mostly use simple and wrapped wire loops: beadaholique.com/collections/beading-projects?_=pf&pf_t_project_status=0-Product-Type%3AProject&pf_t_skill_level=0-Skill-Level%3ABeginner&pf_t_technique=0-Technique%3ABasic%20Beading
I’ve been watching videos on this for the past month as my supplies came trickling in. Last night I tried wrapping for the first time…lol let’s just say I had to go searching for more videos and this one is perfect! Giving it another go tonight. Thank you!
I must just be super dumb because I still cant do it. When I go to make the loop my 90 degree angle that I made completely disappears and looks nothing at all like the products on here. And by the time I finished my wire breaks. I'm using 20 gauge so idk what I am doing wrong but it's getting very frustrating.
Try practicing with 22 guage wire. It may be a little easier to work with while you get the hang of it. Also, be sure to use gold plated or silver plated head pins. They should not break easily. Here is my recommendation: beadaholique.com/products/silver-plated-head-pins-22-gauge-3-inches-25
My loops still don't look like hers or any other video I've watched so you're in good company! It takes doing it over and over and eventually it will look perfect. I'm getting better. You might try 24 guage stainless steel...it definitely won't break and it's pretty easy to work with.
OMG I see what I’ve been doing wrong! I kind of taught myself and sometimes I would get it right (following pictures) and sometimes get it wrong and get frustrated and give up!!! Thank you so much!!❤️❤️💞
Wow what a great video ! I have been making jewelry for years and I still had trouble with this very basic technique. The books and other videos just didn't click for me. Yours did. Thank you !

I need help. I got this way to work and was so happy. It was on long this head pin wire. I pulled out another package of head pins were so much thicker and I had so much more problem spinning it around the center. The packages do not mention anything about the circumference the way basic wires do. In the future my only choice to look in the small package and hope I can see the difference?
If you've already got a variety of head pins you're using but you need a way to quickly tell the size because they didn't come labeled what I'd recommend is buying a wire gauge measuring tool so you can quickly figure out the diameter of the headpin. The one we carry covers several of the common head pin gauges; 26, 24, 22, and 20. If you're trying to distinguish 21 gauge (The second largest common size) from 20 gauge (The largest we typically carry) you might still have to do a bit of squinting to tell the difference, but this will still let you sort and label your headpins much faster and compare them to the wires you've used in the past: faster.beadaholique.com/products/eurotool-pocket-size-wire-gauge-tool-measures-wire-or-sheet-metal
Thank you it’s really clear! Every time i finished wrapping it always ended up with some scratches or marks left on the wire 😂 how would you avoid that ? I guess just by a lot of practice ?
That can happen very easily with plated wire. What we often do to avoid that is to wrap the tips of our tools with paper tape, it's soft and it keeps the wire protected.
Does it matter what gauge wire you use? I've been having a hard time with the normal loops, they will wiggle apart no matter how tight I crimp/push them. So I wasn't sure if it was cheap metal that I was using or not, I usually buy everything at Hobby Lobby or Michael's
