Im glad you mentioned this tutorial in todays live. I almost missed it because I have to work tonight and I just woke up and caught the last part of the video. I missed this last year but I think it was because my dad had passed two months before this and I was still not in a good place so I wasnt looking at many videos at all. Im glad you mentioned it so I could go look it up. I learned to crochet with your granny square tutorial and it never gets old to me. Sometimes I just put it on and listen to it while crocheting or doing other crafts. I absolutely love that tutorial. " Shell chain 2 shell" Love it!!! That was about 4 years ago for me I think but still I love it.

Jayda, thank you! I tried this a while back and couldn’t get it to work. But I’m tired of making regular granny squares and wanted to try this again. After going around that first full round…it now makes sense! After that first round…work it like you do granny squares! That first round is the hardest…I’ll probably have to watch a few more times before it truly sinks in. Thank you ever so much.

Your timing is perfect! I have finished a queen sized continuous granny square blanket for my mother and gave it to her as a mother's day gift. I love this version of the Granny Rectangle! Its center blends perfectly with the shapes formed by the color changes. I think it is genious how the first corners and sides are etablished using a chain of 10. From there, it is all very easy repeats. The only things I do differently is that I use a 6 mm hook (J) with worsted weight acrylic yarn (#4) and I don't chain between clusters on the sides. This makes the granny piece more cushiony and warm.

Thanks so much for this one. I found that six rounds of this particular pattern forms a rectangle that will block to the 7x9 inch one that Warm Up America uses. I used a Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn worsted weight yarn and a size H hook to get the correct size.
