I loved the new video. Marion is a beautiful town. My paint company works on the large yellow house in the background when you start walking. And then in Roanoke when you showed the railroad office building, it's actually apartments now. I have family there. So I really felt connected to that trip. Thanks for taking us along.

After Williamsburg, check out historic Jamestown...they are both close together. And, maybe even Yorktown. Other interesting locations on that side of the state...if you drive up north from there over to Reedville, Virginia...you can hop a ferry over to Tangier Island. That would be a good jaunt. Another consideration would be after Jamestown/Yorktown head down to Virginia Beach and do the walk around there a bit. Next, consider driving up Route 13 up to Chincoteague/Assategue to see the wild horses, then Ocean City, Maryland. After that you may want to consider heading west towards Washington DC. Have fun! Try to have lunch at Raleigh Tavern located inside the Williamsburg historic site. It is really cool. Have fun there! The Governor’s Mansion is a good tour there too.

I love the pencil. I heard that inside is a huge pair of scissors & a ruler. The old home you showed would be a nice place for you & Dawn to have lunch, & see all the antiques they have in back. Red hot dogs are not unusual for the area, just different than what your use to. I loved seeing the murial & learning about Edith Wilson. Interesting her place of birth was above Skeeters. Did not know that. There are so many places you & Dawn can enjoy in Virginia.

On your way back to Tenn. you need to stop in Norton Va. Its the smallest city in the state, and if you goto flag rock you might just get a glimpse of the world famous Woodbooger. Thanks for the videos.

Definitely need to check out the Shenandoah Valley area. There is a large Mennonite community around Dayton, VA that you may find interesting. Lots of history here in the Valley as well including Civil war history, the Frontier Culture Museum, and lots more. We also have the Shenandoah National Park as well as the George Washington National Forest.

Roanoke is my second home we lived there several years during the early 70s ….I worked at N&W railway. Roanoke is a great city and downtown is full of history. Hotel Roanoke was built by Norfolk &Western railway
Next time y’all are near Roanoke y’all should go to Bedford, Va which is about 30 minutes east of Roanoke and eat at the liberty station restaurant and visit the national D-Day memorial.
If and when you go to Missouri, to to St. Charles, just outside of St. Louis. It is really neat. It basically is one street alongside the Missouri River. It was settled in like the 1790s ( maybe?). There are shops and restaurants along the brick street. I went with my cousins and we had a really great time there. It is a great day trip. Have fun!!
We loved visiting St. Charles when we lived in the St. Louis area. The brick street gives it that historical feel. I am sure that area has improved even more since we visited St. Charles 30 years ago.
