    "because no one else is going to live for me" Love it man. I'm going to try using that one next time I let myself be paralyzed by fear of what I actually WANT to do. Good reminder of how valuable the life we've been given is, so that we can stop taking it for granted. Great stuff

    Welcome back my friend. You were missed. Great video. You have touched others with your words and actions. Don't judge me, I care for my mother full-time. I wait on the sidelines of life, waiting, waiting for her to move on to the afterlife so I can start living. You have made me stop and reflect, to take those small steps of forward trajectory. As they say, Today IS the first day of the rest of your life. I don't want to miss any one day in the present. Thank you, Jeremiah.

    • @JeremiahLuke

      I could never judge anyone for the circumstances of their own life, especially not when you are sacrificing of yourself for the betterment of another. That is perhaps one of the most admirable things to do with one's time.
      I can't pretend to understand your life, but I can try to honestly reflect on my own and thereby give you a new perspective from which to see your own! :)
      Thank YOU for encouraging ME today, carpam!

    Captivating video. Honest words. You’re authenticity towards the journey you are on and the bends in the road you find yourself taking in always inspiring. Thank you for sharing your work and inner reflections with us. I find much of what you share relatable and helpful. I too subscribe to the mantra that “motion creates opportunity” and sometimes all that means to me, is taking the smallest of steps in order to remain on a forward trajectory. Sometimes that movement can be sitting up out of bed and that’s big enough, other times it can be as big as taking a trip or a major life change. Now you got me reflecting! 🙏

    • @JeremiahLuke
      @JeremiahLuke  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ahhh I truly could not have put it better myself. Sometimes it can be as small as sitting up out of bed or as big as taking a trip or major life change... that perfectly captures how I see the fear/paralyzing effect I am talking about!
      Thank you for being here and sharing your insights, I quite enjoy engaging with them.

      @@JeremiahLuke I felt compelled to come back here tonight. 7months. Wow. 7mths since you inspired me to legally begin the process of selling my home. Today, after 7mths of renovations and battling my mind, I sold my home. this is one of those videos that i wrestled with for weeks before finishing / uploading... one of those that I assumed would finally be the one where people diverge from my thinking / experience and point out how out of touch i am with normal human experience. Jeremiah, I just listened to your video. I think fear is the absence of faith. Faith in what you might ask?
    Maybe confidence in yourself and the Almighty to guide you through life.
    Maybe some of what you are feeling is tied up in a longing for companionship. It is not good for man to be alone.
    You are blessed with youth and good health. Enjoy this opportunity in your life and yes set goals and make plans. Remember failing to plan is planning to fail.
    Also are you getting the exercise you need to produce those good feeling chemicals in your brain?
    Praying for you brother!

    • @JeremiahLuke
      @JeremiahLuke  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate you! covering all the bases here, i love it. I think the hardest parts for me are the between plan parts... when one plan finishes and the next is either still in development or it can't start for some time yet... that limbo period is always so hard! But realizing that has helped a lot in getting through it and on to the next thing.

    • @chrisdevalcourt648
      @chrisdevalcourt648 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The "between plan part" is what takes faith and trust to get you to the next step in your journey. Rome wasn't built in a day.
      Do and be the best you can and know how to be through out your life. Then you have peace.
      If you make mistakes or when you make mistakes learn from them and grow.
      This is your journey!
      You can obtain advice from many in this world, but I recommend seeking Godly counsel.
      Be all you can be!
      Keep learning who Jeremiah is.

    As I watched this video it reminded me of some young guys I used to coach. I not sure what’s your sports background might be or if this analogy works for you but here goes. A young fella got up to bat his overwhelming concern was to not strike out. The first pitch was beautiful right over the plate strike one. The next one a ball outside the next one inside but very hittable. The next and last one was a fast ball outside for the final and third strike. Four pitches never swung the bat and back to the dugout. His fear of striking out prevented him from swinging the bat. I had other guys on the team that went to the plate with one thing in mind just get on base. They didn’t care if they hit if they walked or got hit by a pitch or even hoping the catcher dropped the ball on the third strike. The latter group we’re fired up with anticipation knowing that there were several possibilities. The first guy was only focused on the possibility of failure.
    Step to the plate my friend and even if you get hit by a pitch you still end up on base.

    • @JeremiahLuke
      @JeremiahLuke  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hell yeah. I love this analogy although i had a bad relationship with baseballs growing up (smashed my face up real good) I appreciate it nonetheless.
      That really hits to the core too. I think i spend most of my time aware of failures (possible, crazy unrealistic ones, past ones etc all of em!). I will think of this the next time i am getting stuck in that mindset!

  • @Chris-ut6eq
    @Chris-ut6eq 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Curious why fear based motivation is a theme here. What about switching the dialog to what would I love to do? What would thrill me to experience? What is the future story of my life that excites me?
    Fear based motivation is a good basis for social manipulation. It's why religion is an influential force. It's why media focuses on the negative with narratives based on fear, uncertainty and doubt. F.U.D is the great way to get eye-balls and clicks, to distract people and to keep them off-balance.
    Just found your channel today and while I'm drawn to it, I'm also questioning if it will help me in finding my future story that excites me to get up in the morning thinking "Wow, I get to do this today!"

    • @JeremiahLuke
      @JeremiahLuke  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can' tell you how poignant and wonderful it is to hear you draw out this distinction. The change from fear-based to excitement or hope-based motivation and outlook has been an ongoing battle of mine for many years.
      I discovered in college that I was strictly using fear and self-ridicule to move forward and accomplish more...as you can imagine, it was unsustainable and awful.
      I am still fighting with old, strong habits to change my outlook. This current motorcycle trip I am on is helping force me to try to change.
