  • The courtroom is heating up in Young Thug's trial as opening statements are being presented on Monday. “Well, I told you to do that a week ago,” Judge Ural Glanville said showing his frustration after the defense admitted all slides were not submitted prior to opening statements beginning. Atlanta rapper Young Thug, born Jeffery Williams, faces multiple charges under Georgia’s RICO Act. Williams, believed to be the leader of the YSL collective, supposedly operated a “criminal street gang” from outside his residence. Williams faces eight charges in a 65-count indictment.

    Incompetent.
I have tried cases as a prosecutor and as a defense attorney.
A motion in limine, means that a party asks for a ruling at the threshold of the trial. In other words, the parties ask the court to make a determination before the trial, in order to avoid irreversible prejudice from being injected into the record.
The court made a ruling, at the threshold, and the state ignored that ruling. To make matters worse, the violation included a prior conviction, which is incredibly prejudicial.
To make it worse, the violation also includes a pretrial order to disclose all demonstrative aids the State intended to use in opening, more than a week prior to trial.
    This is an embarrassment.
The State is either grossly incompetent or deviously unethical.
100% unnaceptable. The defense has already been denied effective counsel, through no fault of the defense attorneys.
The mistrial should have been granted.

You approve them to start working the line tonight. Say it's too busy for you to check each meal as it goes out, you just have to trust your line cooks to do their job. The new line cook cooks a meal for table 2. Table 2 gets their meal, and it's raw and has no lamb sauce. The line cook did a crap job, but you, the head chef, approved them to make food tonight. Should the restaurant reprimand you or the line cook?
The lawyers here are the line cooks. Should Fani have some blame for choosing these people to try this case? Sure, the buck stops with her. Should she be the one everyone blames because she was the approver? No.

When asked for her response, the prosecutor stumbled and fumbled through her answer, sounded like a bunch of jibberish. I think she was embarrassed because she got caught and was trying to think on her feet. This is what diversity, equity, and inclusion gets you.

If Thugga had a heads up on this Rico, slid him some bread for earrings, he would at least posted bail.
