I was in court today and boy! She is frustrating. This case is moving at a tortoise speed because Love is not concise nor organized. She fights EVERY SINGLE OBJECTION. I mean every single objection. She cannot pivot and move on. She can’t concede ANYTHING. There is no end in sight because she is focusing on so many irrelevant details and the judge will not restrict her. The freaking jury is making $25 a day!! My life would be in shambles. Free this jury. Free these young men. Charge folks for the crimes THEY COMMITTED if there is evidence and move on!

The defenses only strategy has been spamming objections and motions with thus ongoing tone like everybody is corrupt except their clients. It's crazy to me that every comment section is throwing all that negative energy at Love for just doing her job. But nothing is said about old ladies getting shot, amother getting carjacked with her daughter in her car, Thug teaching a toddler how to stack Blood signs, the shootings, the drug sales out of the gas station etc etc. The way you all look over all the overwhelming evidence against YSL but demonize this black woman is absolutely sickening

The most reliable truth. The closest to the truth that we can get. Prosecutors railroad the process of uncovering the facts in the case that they’ve brought, this ain’t a search for the truth and this should be OVER.

See, that is sadly the one thing that I don't have a hard time with on this. The length of the trial works in favor of that and the things they are supposed to forget are not helping the State. Who if I am on that jury, I am blaming right now because it is still their case in chief. (edit: I meant state not defense, and if you read what I wrote I say that I am blaming them because it is still their case!)

@@CatInWonderlands Once a bell is rung you can't unring it. No chance this is a fair trial and the verdict will stand if found guilty.
And the jury has been there the last 11 months as the Prosecutors question witnesses for days on end until the Judge sustains the defence's 403 objection. Why would the jury blame the defence for the prosecutors lack of competence? What are you talking about? Also it's the State presenting their case. The defence hasn't even started their case or called their first witness. Do you know how trials work? It's the State currently putting on their "case in chief" if you want to use that phrase to sound technical.

    • @CatInWonderlands
      @CatInWonderlands 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@declan92100 Yes, I have seen plenty of trials. I will admit I had a typo (I was trying to beat the stupid commercials that erase comments). However if you actually read the rest of what I wrote rather than going on the attack, I said that I would be blaming the one who's case it was and specifically cited the case in chief, which you actually cited in your attack on me. I don't disagree that this case won't stand on appeal if found guilty. But my point is that there are a ton of people saying all kinds of things, not understanding that there is a lot of things that are actually rather reasonable or within the law that every single how people claim should be a reason for mistrial, and it doesn't come close to the legal burden. I am not a Free Thug person, I am a constitutional law person.
The length of this is not working on the State's behalf, and I would from the perspective of the jury be very unhappy about that. I would hold it against the state because it is very clear that it is still their presentation. Which is something that is explained and was explained here in this case in opening statements.
I would have no problems forgetting things that I need to forget, because it has been going on for 11 months. Which is at this point something that is in favor of the defense and not in favor of the state as what is being asked of them to forget is all things that were beneficial to the state. Except maybe the line about Garlington's auntie and Gaither, which was proper hearsay.

@@CatInWonderlands I wasn't "attacking" you.. You commented on my post and said the jury would be frustrated by the Defence as they are putting on their case and i corrected you as they haven't begun their case and it's already been the longest trial in the state of Georgia's history (Ms Love still wants to call 50+ witnesses and asked for permission to call them back a second or third time if needed as she didn't have the files to the defence in time to question Gaither that day).
And it's completely unreasonable to tell 12 people to have selective memory multiple times.. No idea how you think a Judge telling the Jury automatically wipes their memory, or they are even going to follow the instruction and not carry a bias through the trial.
Yes plenty of people are supporting the constant calls for a Mistrial, but even the Judge has said twice in the last week she doesn't think they're doing it intentionally but the State is coming extremely close to crossing the line. And admonished Ms Love after they had a sidebar where Ms Love said she would get rid of the comments on an IG post. Then left the comments on the post and started questioning Gaither about them. Then when confronted tried to claim she thought the Judge just meant "remove the comments, but as this was a phone number it doesn't count" before the Judge shot her down completely and said the Phone number is in the comments and that was baffling she would misrepresent information to the Judge like that..

If I had a daughter in high school, and it was alleged that she was being statutoried by a 50 year old man, and as a result her father/my husband went and killed that man, and that man just happens to be a judge, and the dad/husband happens to be a sheriff, and as a result this case gets national news, and to top it all off the moment in question is on camera, my FIRST priority is going to be that daughter. Holy crap, they need to pull her from school. I hope her name never gets out there or this will stick with her the rest of her life. Whether it is true or not, I would pray the mother comes out and says it isn't true for the sake of her daughter. At least til she gets out of high school. Hell, maybe it is true and the daughter is lying to her mom. We don't know. Qualify your statements.
You heard (or maybe you missed it) the state trooper say that the sheriff was sitting, using the judge's phone trying to contact his own daughter, stood up, and that is when the clip we saw in court was presented with the shooting. It certainly seems possible he saw something about his daughter that drew him to emotional distress. Did the police question the wife? No (or at least not reported). Did they seem at all interested in the allegations regarding the past deputy's conduct and the alleged cover up? Not to me. There is certainly enough evidence for one to acknowledge and maybe even believe the defense's allegations against the judge are likely to be true. And having somebody just say "No" as though it is a final decision and gospel makes my blood boil.

I’m libertarian with right leaning tendencies on policy, and this is the fault of both sides.
Yes, Fani is using this case to springboard herself in the political sphere (whether that be to continue as DA or in some other capacity) and continuing this farce with a weak case and a prosecutor that is inept/corrupt, however Fani is using law that a right majority legislature codified with evidence rules exceptions carved out like crazy so the people on the right can say “we’re tough on crime!”
The fact that one side cheers on the loss of freedom because they can only see it effecting the other side is how we have made it this far down this path so far, and how long until people are willing to wake up and reverse course and defend freedoms and rights even for those they oppose will dictate how far down this path we go….

@@kimmcmillan2873 It happened in September. There was just a pretrial hearing today to see if there was plausible cause for murder charges. The rumor going round is that the judge was allegedly statutorying the sheriff's daughter. Sheriff met with the judge in his chambers, tried to call his daughter on his phone, took the judge's phone (this process apparently was not violent, judge seemed to cooperate in giving his phone to sheriff), sheriff then tried calling his daughter from judge's phone. Immediately afterwards he shoots the judge, wounds him, judge crawls under his desk, sheriff moved around the desk and shoots him again. Then as sheriff is leaving he shoots the judge a couple more times. Then sheriff turned himself in.
It isn't going to trial for a long time. When the sheriff was taken into custody he apparently said something about, "They're taking his wife and daughter." This has caused some to very quickly begin saying the sheriff may have been violent towards his family, and the judge was helping them. I am not so sure about this though. The police and defense (who know the sheriff's side of the story) are talking to the daughter. Not the wife. The sheriff grew in a fury when he called his daughter, and seemingly did not try to contact his wife.

@@kimmcmillan2873 This happened in September. There was a pretrial hearing today to find probable cause for murder. According to the rumor mill, the judge was allegedly statutorying the sheriff's daughter. At today's hearing they actually showed the shooting. The judge was shot and wounded, crawled under his desk, the sheriff moved around the room to continue shooting the judge, then as the sheriff opened the door to leave he leaned down and fired at the judge again.
What they did not show in the footage is what happened immediately before this. Apparently the judge and sheriff met in chambers to discuss something, the sheriff called his daughter on his cellphone, the judge then handed his phone over to the sheriff (so far no evidence has been presented that the sheriff violently took the phone, and reports are that the exchange appeared voluntary), and the sheriff tried calling his own daughter from the judge's phone. Whatever happened put the sheriff in a rage and that is when the footage presented by the prosecution actually starts.
When the sheriff voluntarily went into custody, he said something like, "They are trying to take my wife and kid." This has led some to believe that the sheriff was abusive to his family, and the judge was helping them get out of the sheriff's orbit. I don't think this claim holds much substance yet. The sheriff apparently only tried contacting his daughter on his phone and the judge's phone. The police are focusing more on the daughter, and seemingly not on the wife. I am not sure what to make of the sheriff's exclamation, but the judge helping them escape an abusive home does not click for me
