Mermaids Chair Hike St. Thomas

In todays vLog I hike to Mermaids Chair in St. Thomas along with 6 of my subscribers. Mermaids chair is located in the Botany Bay Subdivision and is the most westerly tip of the island of St. Thomas. The landscape there is very beautiful and features an isthmus that looks like a mermaid's tail! Come along and explore mermaids chair with us. A Berry took me in my 13 foot Boston Whaler with a 55hp at about 3AM in the morning between Mermaid's Chair and Little St. Thomas, jumping the reef that was there, back in the late 1980s when the West end was largely unoccupied. It was one of the most scary events I experienced there.

How was the actual walk from the gate at Botany Bay down to the mermaids chair? I read that the walk down is easy, all down hill, but the walk back to the gate is a little tough since it is all uphill. Your thoughts? Thanks for the video. We have been on STT since 9/1 and leave 9/14, we wan to make this hike before we leave

The walk done is easy but back up is indeed steep. There are two major steep parts, but if you make it back up to the main rd “botany bay way” around 12:30 or 4:30 you can wait at the intersection and ride the shuttle (golf cart) back to the main gates.
