It's an amazing game! When I started playing it, I was very very excited to play it. I am a veteran The Last Stand player, I played the OGs back in the old days, including Dead Zone, it was amazing. The Last Stand: Aftermath may or may not be the last game, but it deserves a huge credit and respect for creating the best series ever.
This is hand down the best review channel ive come across. That fact you do a legit spoiler free, short, informable and beatifully editet video is amazing dude. Also earned a subscriber, plus someone who clearly would recommend you! Good luck man (:
Beautiful! Hope you have a fun time with it-it's not perfect, of course, but if you go in expecting C-Tier you're almost guaranteed to have a good time :)
The gameplay is fun, the story is okay but where it falls short is content. There’s not a lot of locations. Every neighborhood feels the same. How about adding an abandoned hospital, mall, stadiums or school campuses to explore?
I've discovered your channel with this video and immediately subscribed. I think this format and the in-depth but short-kept analysis will take this far. I took a look at your previous videos where the sound wasn't as satisfactory but you seem to have nailed it all here. I'd have one suggestion though, change the "neutral" to "okay" since neutral (even though it isn't) sounds negative but okay sounds positive. As far as I understand from your other videos, three is not a bad score, just not impressive enough to make you say stuff like "oooh :O" or "wow O.O" but it's good nonetheless. I think you may be the first review channel I've liked ever since TotalBiscuit. I hope you become successful as I think you deserve it :) P.S. You might want to think about promoting your videos if you haven't done so already, it'll bring in traffic and you might get a good traction, especially release-day or next day reviews might get good reception.
Wow, tons of awesome feedback here! First, thanks so much for the kind words :) to be even mentioned in relation to TotalBiscuit (R.I.P.) is an honor. I'm especially happy to hear that you think the sound quality has improved, as that took me a TON of trial and error (and a new mic, haha). I also appreciate your thoughts on the "neutral score." I do intend for "neutral" to encompass the range from "just better than disappointed" to "just less than impressed," so it's interesting to hear that you associate it with predominately positive feedback. I'll try and do a better job of explaining that, going forward. Finally, I had never thought about video promotion-very interesting idea! I'll look into that :) anyway, thanks again for the very helpful comment!
Really good review, friend! Concise yet not sacrificing the essentials, considering it is spoiler-free. Subscribed and looking forward for your future videos. My only gripe with this game (based only on my demo experience though) is the infection system. Sure, it is a bit innovative, but, for a "survival" game, it really becomes a double-edged blade. In the end of the day though it kills a lot of the immersion, since I won't be getting fond or connected to my character, thanks to their dispensable nature from the start. And this one of the mains aspects I enjoy in a zombie survival games. My personal nitpick I guess. Refreshing and a nice twist to the genre, but comes with the aforementioned downsides. In Hades at least when you die you still continue with the same main character (wouldn't make much sense in The Last Stand, sadly).
Thank you for the kind words! I also agree with your critiques of the game-mutations and guaranteed death of the player character do very much come with the downsides you've listed, especially if you gravitate toward strong central leads. Thus, I'll only be recommending it to story-focused gamers as a fun/casual change of pace.
Played 3 and a half hours. Wanted to switch games after I died and just started on my 4th volunteer didnt even leave the end. Quit the game, and decided to see what would happen if I went back to my save. It say unable to load save so I guess I wasted 3 and a half hours for nothing.
Whoa, really? Dang, I'm sorry to hear that. I'd recommend letting the devs know on their discord: discord.gg/dxS5TQfR. They're working on a first patch which will apparently iron out some playability issues-personally, I didn't encounter anything this severe.
@@MEGAthemicro I might. I decided to play an hour and a half in a new save. I found stuff I never found in my first save like gears which I never encountered a gun store and a bunker I couldn’t get into so maybe I somehow booted into an old version of the game somehow and it corrupted?
@@madleap1364 Interesting! Well, the maps are semi-procedural, meaning the street layout stays the same but new buildings spawn each time. So, yes, it's possible you loaded a funky layout that needs some attention from the devs?
