This is a beautiful song that I've always loved, for it's timeless and very sentimental to me. The melody is so uplifting and joyous, that it makes you feel good even when you don't. For the power of music has helped me in ways I never thought possible.
As a kid growing up I very much took life for granted. But when I look back as an adult, I really appreciate what I had. For those young years were in fact my best years. While they are forever gone, they are never forgotten. It was a time that was less complicated, where the days were carefree and happy. As a kid you would ride your bike to the park, meet your friends and eat fish 'n' chips, roller skate, skateboarding, cricket, kick the footy, totem tennis, spending long summer days in the pool, all fun outdoor activities. Of course we got up to plenty of harmless mischief, but I would still say it was a more wholesome life back then. It's a shame because kids today spend far too much time indoors with their eyes transfixed to the phone and TV. The way the world is now, I will often have moments where I'll reflect back to the "good old days".
To me the message in this song reminds us how quickly time passes and that we must cherish all those moments in life with our loved ones.
Thank you Vakasa I really appreciated your reaction and thoughts on the lyrics. I enjoyed this so much. ❤🎼😊

The video was filmed in "Shoalhaven" New South Wales, Australia which is located just under three hours out of Sydney. It is on the
south coast which is bordered by mountains, coastal plains, 100 beaches and 49 towns.
The two guys in the video were NZ brother's Todd Hunter (bass guitar, vocals) and Marc Hunter with the hat (lead vocals). Sadly Marc passed away in 1998 from throat cancer. May he rest in peace.🕊
Interesting fact Todd also wrote the John Farnham song Age of Reason with Johanna Pigott in 1988. 🌝

Dragon hail from New Zealand. Their story began back in 1972 or 1973. They moved to Australia in 1975, then based in Sydney. They were part of the era, with bands like Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, AC/DC, Angels, Rose Tattoo and many more. It is known that bands achieved more in Australia purely due to the higher population. I watched a video of lead singer Marc Hunter RIP, about his time here in Oz. He sounded like he was quite a party guy, who felt at home here. The interview included Renee Geyer RIP, another music Queen of soul, who said Marc was like a brother (with benefits 😊). I never heard anything bad said about him, and had a crush back even before I was a teenager. We shared a gap in our front teeth. And my, what a voice he has! I’m reminiscing….

      Thanks for your comment Kaz.
I've always loved this song because of Marc's soaring voice, it's like it transcends into the stratosphere. Clearly the gap in his front teeth didn't affect his singing. I don't know if it's just one of those folk tales but I've read that having a gap in your front teeth can bring luck and fortune! I remember you saying Kaz that you found your husband when you weren't looking, so perhaps that's luck right there. 🌝

@@heidi09 🌸 perhaps that was it, although I had braces when I was 13 so the gap had gone by the time my hubby came along just before I turned 19 😂
