If we want to be competitive in the world or even Asian level, we need a foreign coach. The competition in Europe and Americas is so much higher so naturally the coaches have to be better. This is not an insult to the local coaches. The players there are bigger, stronger and as a consequence, more skilled, so the coaching has to be better in order to respond to the opposing team's offense and defense.
Any coach -Filipino or foreign - who understands how to compete internationally and can develop the program to produce talent that understands fundamentals and team play - not barangay iso play - would be great.

i think it should be coach tab again. With coach gold and chot as assistant coaches. i like coach gold kasi siya lang nakaka counter sa strategies ni tab. And chot for motivation. Peace and love to all ✌️
Ya'll need to understand how much SBP spent on this. MVP spent a TON of money. A million dollar for JC and a whole lot. As a coach, you can't say you fell short cause you're given the job to get Gilas at least an Olympic berth. All you need to do is prepare and think out of the box. Understand euro plays and moving efficiently without the ball. If this is the best you can come up with Chot, it is UNACCEPTABLE!

One thing people are not considering is that the team lacks CHEMISTRY. People keep saying na walang systema (which is true) and solely blames it on Chot which in fact the players nor the coaching staff had enough TIME to build such SYSTEM. Imagine, around August 9 na dumating si Clarkson+Sotto. How do you expect for them to play cohesively? Tingin niyo 2 weeks *boom* solid na agad yung team? Idk who to blame, but the National team definitely lack preparation for this world cup (as well as the past ones). If you compare this to the 2014 world cup team, at least that squad has been together since the qualifiers. And naiba lang sa woldcup was the addition of Blatche. Sana iniisip din natin to. Hindi yung narrow masyado yung pag-iisip. Lots of changes need to be made similar to how USA Basketball changed after losing the Olympics in 2004 with so much star power. They overhauled their program to focus on winning.

A typical fan would not understand how badly Chot Reyes been over the years with international competition. This is not PBA which you can just throw in Tim Cone or Yeng, no shade with these HOF coaches but we're talking about FIBA and competing against world's best basketball country. The play style of dribble drive, iso 1 man game offense will not work. Unless you are as talented and skilled as NBA players, but when JC gets cut off and couldn't hit shots? It's over for us.
