For me, what lacked in that Gilas line up was the outside shooting. Maganda yung lineup defensively kaya hindi tayo natatambakan. Pero nacompromise naman yung shooting natin. No disrespect sa guards, pero they are far from the talents of Castro, Alapag and Tenorio who can handle the ball well, who can drive and shoot outside. Kung naipasok sana yung maraming libre na 3s considering na dikit ang laban, most probably at least 2 yung panalo ng Gilas.

you totally missed the point. ang linaw ng sinabi nya nagkaproblem sa visa ng ibang players including JC at pati sa logistics, so things didn't go as planned because of circumstances, meaning willing sila ipadala sa US to practice with JC.
nakapag-adapt (not adopt) sa system si JC kc alam nya ang sistema ni chot. ang kulang lang talaga is ung gelling or chemistry kasi kulang pa sila sa practice. hindi din ito yung exact same team composition nung naglaro si JC sa qualifying windows kaya kapaan pa talaga.

I beg to disagree that Latvia used dribble drive. Head coach Luca Banchi of Latvia used horns offense with 5 man out. Luca Banchi was the coach of a Euroteam Armani if not mistaken. Research him, and he uses horns offense.

@@alswanttv no, the results will not be the same. His mentality is all about preparation. The Gilas squad he had in mind was the one who already beaten Sokor twice. He is just gonna adjust the line up at the actual Fiba WC. His team will be far more systematic and well prepared in such situations, unlike relying too much on Clarkson's offensive prowess.

Second, if the person really prepared the team, which is obviously Tab was preparing the team 3 years ago, if still, the team reaps 1-4, or even 0-5, I will still be proud of them. How can you not be happy, if they really prepared and lost? In this case I didn't see the same kind of preparation under coach chot. Tab is also an excellent strategist, he will not allow himself going to a battle without proper preparation, because that is how I've known him from what he did with Ateneo and Gilas (college)
Hes right. Most teams are playing 4 out and dribble drive system. Slovenia,Germany, USA, Angola, Sudan to name a few.

They set on ball and off ball screens, moving without the ball, targeting mismatches.
I don't know what you were watching but those teams EXCEPT USA didn't play DDO. And even USA that can play DDO all the time didn't do it.
And if they do it, it's NOT ALL THE TIME. They only attack when they see a weak defender
And it's not ISOLATION. they do pick and roll, screens, motion.
