Nostalgia everywhere in this one: 2006 cars, a 2002 game that set the bar for physics and realism at the time, all on a modern system at 60fps. I know it says 45 but 45 rendered to 60 doesn't hinder the video at all.

I know this old video but I really enjoyed watching this. GP4 is my favourite race game of all time. To this day I don’t think another modern game beats its AI. I’d love to see you play a season out

@@AidanMillward On WIN 10 I installed from the original disk in win XP SP3 Admin and the exe won't start. I run the patch - either from the disk itself or 9.6 available online and after unpacking shortly after the installer runs I get 'Error extracting files. catastrophic shit and corruption failure ' Gutted.

Solid drive until that crash. Did you add the dirty-air effect using GP4 Tweaker? Didn't see much of it, though. You could still follow Fisichella quite closely. Nice mod, though.
You just experience the genesis of DRS system.
I am impressed by the smudges on the visor, can you pull the dirty ones off or are you going to be blind at race end?

Despite the 2006 mod, car still sounds like a V10.
A lot of mods still use the default sounds.
Hey mate, can I confirm which 2006 mod you are using? The one that I have installed doesn't the tobacco sponsors on the Ferrari and Renault. Just wondering how you got those installed?
It's the Megapack one, from GP4Forever, if I'm not wrong.

Back in the day this was the best F1 game by a mile...when ya mention R Factor, the graphics are better in GP4,lol
myk on the other hand rf has the better driving experience.
If I can get the tv graphics to work in rf I might do some more f1 stuff.

Emulators aren’t illegal, ROMs are. But to use the emulator, you need a disc dump, which have questionable legal status.
As it so happens, I just acquired a PS3 for nothing.

Also, what do you mean for nothing? Just because you can’t film it, doesn’t mean it’s not worth it. I had it for a long time and it was really great fun, even if my dad kept driving with all the assists.

Oh. Well, in that case, use a Delorean mod in Assetto Corsa, go up to 88 miles per hour and travel back to 2013.
SovietOnion thinking about it, the last race I may have done before popping the question would have been the 2010 mod at Bahrain. Because apparently I shouted "fucking Alonso I'm going to fuck him and those eyebrows right up!" In my uni dorm block.
