  • One helluva London walk - hidden gems that make every outing an exciting discovery
This walk is number 41 out of 408 that I am doing to cover a walk between every station on the London Underground, raising money for Prostate Cancer UK.
As it's walk 41, I've completed 10% of this mission. Hurrah!

tricky how they do that. But it is an amazing place above ground. I stayed in Aldgate my last visit and I think I have found my new favorite place to stay. Love walking the neighborhood early on a weekend morning

And above ground, wonderful Smithfield Market is on the way!

In fact Farringdon is not the oldest station on the Underground. The present station opened in late 1865, when the extension to Moorgate was opened. The original station, (which had the distinction of being the first Underground station to close), was not quite three years old. (10 Jan 1863 to 23 Dec 1865). Kings Cross has also moved, but as far as I am aware the other five are still on their original 1863 sites.

Darn. You (correctly) got me on a technicality!
