Blueberries in Abundance

December through February is a great time to plan and prepare the soil for blueberry bushes once they become available in garden stores. Blueberry bushes are a lovely addition to the landscape and produce berries that are nutritious and have a high anti-oxidant value, but they can be tricky to grow in Santa Clara County. Proper site selection and soil preparation are key. You will also want to know how to choose the right varieties, how to buy and transplant your plants, and how to care for them for optimal berry production. This talk is presented by Master Gardener Jeff Jenks who has been growing and eating blueberries for years.
