the foreshadowing of doing a full lorecrimes astartes anonymous podcasts that is 5 hours long and they just make dumb jokes for 3 hours of the podcast xd
My favorite part of the 40k lore is how ambiguous and mysterious it can be. Like systems can be cut off, warp routes lost, even time doesn’t flow right across the Galaxy. Nearly every kind of story is possible, and every rule has their exceptions.
I love the talk of Necromunda, honestly I feel whatever Henry Cavill is doing with amazon should be about Necromunda and Kal Jericho, get the first look into 40K for people not in the know about the micro level, and slowly sneak in the macro level of the setting like its a cosmic horror, much like Kal did with that one off Necron Titan.
I’m currently reading the night lords book and I love how humanized they are, I’m definitely gonna be reading more books from ADB in the future, he made me sympathize with literal child skinners.
I have not read a lot of books but the dual perspectives in the brutal but kunnin book really stood out. The orks very chaotic but somehow chill, having fun. And the you see from the admech perspective. One passage somehow really stood out for me. The main Ad-Mech "person" we were following is on the frontlines behind a defensive wall wich is breached by the orks. As the orks push through the opening , getting gunned down the orks behind them grab through the wounds of the just shot orks ripping them in half to make way.
One of the reasons i like Ciaphas Cain, is that he is the villain of his own story. Despite being a genuinely good person and a hero. He torments himself over the horrible choices he has had to make, but doesnt count his own heroic deeds.
1:01:00 The Tau are at their best when they're just the good guys. No brainwashing, no forced sterilization, no "guess its time to grow out of my youthful hope and into a cynical adult", just the good guys. There is nothing more grimdark than a good guy who is desperately fighting to do the right thing when everyone around them, themselves, and you the reader, all know they will fail. A good guy continuing to be a good guy in the face of turbo-sadism at every turn is peak grimdark. It even lets you keep the Farsight rebellion, cause the ethereals can say "If we told you that at a moments notice satan could just show up to your home and kick you in the dick so hard you explode into gibs, do you honestly think people would keep working their jobs and not panic?". My headcanon is the Tau ARE the good guys and everything bad about them is just Imperial propaganda to stop people from leaving and joining them.
Could you guys bring back the segment where you talk about the new GW model releases since the last episode after the Models of the Week? I don’t really play tabletop, but it was cool to hear your guys opinions of them.
32:26 fairly certain splinter cell had a multi-player like that. Fps for the vindicare, assassins Creed for the culexus and polymorphine people, batman arkham for the eversor.
Really love this podcast! Just to expand on the Star Wars stuff some because I like both a lot. In canon you get some really good stories for the bad guys in the canon thrawn novels and the Vader comics that humanizes them a lot while also maintaining how bad they are/can be.

54:52 Red has the correct opinion. Those books were written for the lore pre Disney and work better than half of the Disney lore does. That being said, Star Wars was always far from perfect (as any story will be).
AFAIK, it's still the case - Vader loathes what he became, yet is unable to do anything with it, because the only close person that he knows is Palpatine, who is gaslighting him into obedience.
And that is not to say get rid of it, or even really diminish it, but my God we really don't need to undercut the positives. More emphasis on the positives would be welcome in my eyes, because I get enough depressing stuff in real life.
@@bad-people6510 I think this could be where things lie the leagues of votan could fill. bad situation and lots of pressure, but not necessarily all of the war crimes in the same way.
I love the podcast, so don't act like I'm in the wrong place when I say space marines are f-ing lame. They're the least interesting part of 40k to me and nearly single-handedly kept me away from the hobby for years until I met someone who told me about some of the non-space marine lore. Seriously I couldn't have given less of a crap about the homebrew lore I heard about my friend's space marine chapter. I'm not saying everything about them is lame. Ive read enough books to appreciate the good parts, but I'd gladly trade every space marine centered book for stories like Day of Ascension, The Infinite and the Divine, any of the Ork books, etc. Problem is, I just listed a non-trivial portion of the xeno books.
Yall say horrible and evil i say human. It is human to go with what society deems acceptable and to put such rough words on poor ignorant people who were also probably very scared and doing what they needed to protect their families is unfair.
In the description there is a discord link. I would recommend using your phone if you have yt and discord on there because if you use desktop it can cause some dumb stuff to happen sometimes.
On his experiences growing up on the island or the history of the island, because I can't speak to his personal experiences but all of what he's said so far has lined up with information you can look up, various deportations of Islanders to camps on mainland Europe and having various German defenses still visible to this day are common on the island.
...These fools don't know that the sindlers' list is a work of fiction?! This whole episode was complete brainrot but that got me downright disgusted. I out. There are better things to listen to out there

Now we need the Astartes Anonymous team to invade the Lore Crimes podcast
"What are Dark Angels fan gonna do," I dont know talk to our still living primarch
I love TheRemembancers content, and love seeing him with the boys. Now we just need granddaddy Luetin to join in
Grandfather Leutin loves everyone.

If they ditch the "Assassins" part and just call it Creed it needs to have sick guitar solos on top of mountains.
The T'au are not goody two shoes. They're an empire like the imperium it's just their efficient where the imperium is not.
A video about armor and or armor comparisons across settings like the space marine vs vid would be an interesting listen
Has anyone drawn up an astartes anonymous bingo board yet? And if so, is "Red mentions the nightlords omnibus" the free space?
No the free space is someone being horns for a xenos
Thus far this blows all other episodes out of the water as my personal favourite.
Thank you.
I'm in too deep I thought The Remembrancer and the Drunk Remembrancer were one person....
When you consume a few drinks too many and morph into a wholly separate person

amon goeth in some small way shows the banality of evil.

Star Wars fans don't get to say anything kn relation to worldbuilding because THEIR series had a hard reset and 40k hasnt.
