Very good old school kung fu film worth watching. l always love this Roc Tien Peng movie as he appeared in the shaolin temple as well as after he left the temple. Two very different looks but the same Tien Peng.
Look how great this film looks! I’ve never seen it so pristine… not even when it was released to DVD in early 2000s… (especially for a film from 1976!) How much Polly wang looks like a young Coco Lee Wen (rest her soul.) I wonder if Cinema No.* put out part II? (Return of the 18 bronzemen - which was released on DVD in a set with this movie.)
Sometimes the sound and subtitles are away ??? Also the cross of Hitler is been used in decors and costumes ??? But the movie is a great kung fu/shaolin classic . L.M.

In fact they are the top martial arts fighters in Sholin Temple and being the examiners for those Sholin monks who took part in an assessment of leaving the temple. The “Bronezemen” is just a description of their strong ability in Kung Fu. However, the film Director applied imagination to paint golden colour in their bodies to indicate the given name “Bronzemen”. It's really funny of painting a man in golden colour.

Swastika (स्वस्तिक) has been used long time perhaps thousands years before 20 Century European Nazi was born and it was a symbol of eternal circulation by divinity in the Hindi civilization including Buddhism. Nazi Hooked Cross (Hakenkreuz) is completely different modern political logo. It has got at least minimum relevance to Christianity, unlike original swastika of Buddhism. Shaolin Temple is a important monastery of the Chinese medieval Buddhism and thus Swastika is a natural part of interior decoration. They both don't have anything to do with each other. If not sure, look at the direction of spin. If 卍, then Buddhism but if 卐, then Nazi. So simple.
I watched the English dubbed version and this version. The English one was more concise and has more mystery in the plot although some dialogues were badly translated
