“It’s our lead guitar player, Fredrik [Thordendal], being drunk back in the day, talking to one of our old-school fans, trying to explain what type of guitar tone we were always trying to get, and he was desperately trying to say, ‘We want that ‘dj_,’ ‘dj_,’ ‘dj_,’ ‘dj_.'”
“And that guy was, like, ‘What’s he saying? Is that a Swedish word? Must be. Sounds like dj_, maybe ‘djent’? Maybe something like that.’ And that’s where it comes from. A drunk misunderstanding, as always with Meshuggah.”

@@tomturek9682 well, other than the aesthetics of it, I think headless guitars are somewhat more comfortable to play. But no difference of sound because of that.

@@KEOSOUNDS Thanks man.I figured it didn't make difference in sound. It does look more comfortable though. But at any rate. This was a amazing live show and to sound that good live. The way he stands there with his eyes closed and plays makes me jealous.🤣.

The sound quality on this is insane. Would love to have this as a live album. I have since realized there is some sound issue on Bleed... :(

Yeah the guitar cuts out early in the song, might have been a sound issue because it doesn't sound like he's messing up.

Yeah they really got to make 2 live albums, one for this and one for the immutable tour

I was actually there. It was incredible. Perfect performance, tight sound, matching lighting. Best performance I´ve ever seen, though I was never a die-hard Meshuggah fan

the band that delivers one of the most entertaining and brutal live shows. They know well how to transport their audience to a polyrhythmic universe. A unique sound

The light show helps a lot too, my brain feels both exhausted and satisfied with so much sensorial stimuli.

Over 30 years and Jens vocals are still powerful. Normally metal vocalist get softer over time but his skills are just amazing.

I'm convinced he's not human. I saw them a few days ago in NYC and I was absolutely floored by his performance. It was during The Hurt That Finds You First that I just started laughing because his vocals were just relentless. No sign of strain or wear out. He does this day after day. It's almost unbelievable. I know Thomas Haake gets a lot of the credit, as well he should, but Jens has got to be one of the best metal vocalists in the world.
