  • Check out Ben's Chessable courses here! www.chessable.... Here are three games I have played as black against the Velimirovic Attack. I learned an unusual line in 1999, and have played it successfully several times.

I remember this Qe8 idea from one CCSCSL lecture you did, was very interesting.

Is this the line where Ben beat "a 2100" who changed his name to "a 2099" ?

      "So his first name's A, and his last name's 2100 "

Funny this is today's video because during a game earlier today I mentioned this exact position with Qe8 or Q-K1 to a friend of mine when we mentioned descriptive notation. I couldn't remember which variation, so thanks Ben!

Rodriguez still is the highest rated at 24highish, I remember playing against him and getting crushed in the Velimirovic so I guess he learned something, or not since I lost on 14 moves so I'm probably the one that should learn something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Love your videos on openings and your games with gm's, (I guess I love your videos in general ), so keep it up!

Mr Finegold, I dont know If you are going to read this. I think I'll have to ask in the next video. I have a problem when castling on the queen side. I dont know how should I push my pawns/ organize my pieces to make a successful attack on the enemy's castled king on the king side. Could you give me a non-sarcastic advice or make a video about attacking on opposite side castling? PD: Forgive my gramatical mistakes, I'm from Argentina, my english is not that good. (*terrible*). PD 2: If there is already a video about that, could you tell me the name of it?

Some concise advice: consider various active, attacking moves and always look ahead. It's generally all about concrete calculation of variations in such positions. And always try ignore your opponents threats (this is important in chess in general, but particularly in these positions) in favour of more dynamic moves.

I found Rxe7 in around 5 seconds. I'm rated 1450 on chess.com. I think this was a real bad blunder, not a blunder only GM's can take advantage off like you claimed, lol. He pinned his queen to a protected queen while his queen was also protecting two piece....

Hey GM Finegold! I really like your videos and content. Thanks for making these videos! Anyway, have you been contacted by Hutch? He has a youtube channel and likes to make chess videos along with other games. He's been collaborating and making videos with other GMs and I think you guys could make some great content.

I don't get why the f3 pawn matters at 20:46, his knight is blocking h5 and g4 anyways
