I honestly don’t think it needed to be remastered, but it’s still cool. But I honestly prefer old Hex.

Although Hex looks much more smooth and moves around more in remastered, I prefer the original one. I’m not exactly sure how to describe it, but the old one felt much more friendly.

Remastered: So we just drew over the original sprites a bit and made him shorter anyway its a remaster also he looks like a child

Well turns out a lot of people don't like the remastered mods, me included. Remastered mods look like someone just changed the outfit slightly and their appearance and called it remastered.

its just a reskin a remaster is something usually remade or remastered by the og creator, in this instance calling your own work of something and remaking it and calling it so is literally just calling yours better unless thats just the thumbnail

Anyway, I don't like this one. The only changes that were even made (which isn't much) kinda ruins the point of the character.
If I remember correctly the first few ones that came up (Zardy, Ruv) were made by one guy (SugarRatio) who was just doing it for fun. The rest of em seem to be people doing it for one reason or another

Man his old style looked like I could sidestep him for an easy bball shot and he'd fold like a cheap lawnchair without me touching him.

Edit: I was taken aback and didn’t expect to see this pop up and thought they changed the mod entirely. Glad to see that Hex’s sprites are the only thing that changed (and a decent change at that)

I honestly like the older one. I don’t really like any of the remastered mods. Like the Tord one is cool but the reason he looked not super good and stuff in the original mod was because it was supposed to be kinda in the older Eddsworld art style I think but I’m not sure. I mean it makes the most sense

Unnecessary Remaster, not necessarily bad, but the original Hex already fit the artstyle
I like the remaster overall because because the slight character design make him look sturdier, which fits the basketball aspect of his design. The issue I have is the animation poses; they have less impact than the original ones.
Is it just me or did he get a bit...chubby? Lmao. As much as I like these remastered mods, I think I prefer the old one more tbh. Plus, the og Hex already fit the style of the game perfectly. (Or at least in my opinion) But I'm also not hating on this one at all either, it still looks pretty good.

honestly, the old one is better, it really felt like hex was giving it his all but in this one he doesnt even go all the way down when he hits a down note. 0/10 dont reccomend
Tbh I feel like they made him worse. They made him look more "human" which is absolutely unnecessary since he's not even close to human.

The design is cool and everything, and the songs are gonna still bop of course, but the arrow animations for hex just seem...lifeless compared to the original which was more lively
While not really needing a remaster I’m glad he’s been cured of his daddy dearest animation syndrome (for some clarity it’s when the up, down, and possibly right pose continuously pulsating and the left pose practically has no animation)
The only thing that should've been really "remastered" is BF's voice tbh

These "remasters", in my opinion, are just a way to disrespect the original artist, by basicly saying "your shit is good, but what I made is better", and I think that's what many have been doing wrong. Giving characters more expresive animations or making them feel more "modern" doesn't make it better, it just makes it different. And I really don't like when people keep talking about how the remaster is way better, and credit the person who did the remaster, but not the original artist who made the OG mod. If anything, I think we should call these, like, I don't know "Alternate Sprites"? I think that makes it have a lot more sense when it's said like that, because it's not better than what the creator did, it's just, another way to play the mod.
They aren’t saying it’s better, the mod pages of these mods literally say that it’s just the character in their style
@@Gegcoin Maybe they aren't trying to deliver that impression, but calling something "Remastered" implies that there were issues with the original that needed to be fixed. If you go through the comments of this video you can find a lot of people stating there was nothing wrong with the original Hex, and I agree with that. I can see where Dieguito is coming from as to where "Remastering" something can be disrespectful and it would be better to call them "Alternate Sprites" or something.

It’s called remastered hex, it’s a skin mod. It’s not a remaster of the whole mod.
I really like this one! I would go with both if that was an option. Although, I would go for remastered hex.

I like how the back animation has more then 1 frame, since originally Hex was made for Daddy Dearest, I think the original Hex could’ve at least added those couple frames when becoming a full week.
Also his head turns in the animation, which is a detail I really like

In my opinion the Hex Mod Songs Are the best songs i have ever heard in a mod But the boyfriend's vocals are just "Disco" (And Zavodilla is a really good song too but that song is from Mid-Fight Masses)

Can people stop saying "remastered" and say "re-drawn"? People are unanimously agreeing that the original was way better, and I agree. It had a certain charm that this "remastered" mod takes away. If it isn't broken, then don't fix it. People seem to forget about this saying nowadays.

Quick reminder for everyone who might appreciate the original Hex look more, that the whole point of "remasters" as they're called, is to try and make the sprites for popular mod characters fit in more with the original art style for Friday Night Funkin'. There's no law saying you have to like the remastered sprites more, lol. Also, don't you think the Brightside mod could use a remaster? Would love to see that.
I think the brightside mod was taken down bc the creator was a groomer so I highly doubt anyone would be working on it

But this isnt a "full week" though, you only showed 2 songs out of 4. So this is clickbait. i was epecting a glitcher version aswell but was dissapointed and my day was ruined.
Hex is one of the mods that I feel don't need a remaster. I think the remasters are meant for mods that could fit the FNF art style better, like Zardy, Ruv, and Sarv (not the "thicc" one, I'm talking about the one by AmazeinG).
The only needed a remaster was BF’s voice if you ask me
Shaggy got updated, Whitty got updated, Kapi got updated, Hex got updated, all we're waiting for is Carol.
What is up with all of these remasters..? First Sarv and Ruv, then the weird remaster of bf with his hand hanging out of his pocket, and now Hex (and many more)! The only one that really needed to be remastered was Tord, and even that one didn’t totally need to get remastered. It showed the old art style of the Eddsworld show.
As much that Hex didn't really needed a remaster I really like this version, looks more chummy.
But I see remastered version of mods being more like of a self propaganda for the artist who made the remaster, so people if in need of someone to make sprites could call him/her up, or maybe is just something made for fun and i'm just overthinking. Either way it's quite a intriguing idea

I really hope people learn what a remaster is. You're supposed to make the character *better* looking. (Take Ruvzyat for instance) On a side note, I don't believe Hex requires a remaster unless they remaster his "Glitcher" animation or change his face to be reminiscent of an actual computer.
I don’t understand why people call these remasters when they are remakes, not remastered. It’s not better, it’s not worse, it’s just a creator redrawing a sprite sheet.

It's cool that they remastered it but I don't think Hex's mod needed a remaster. It's just fine by itself. His movements ARE smoother in this but they look alot limited than the original. (As in, Hex doesn't touch the ground in his down sprite now, his "hand" just stretches a tad past his "knee", while in the original, Hex touches the ground.) Also Hex looks alot chubbier and shorter in this than the og. I prefer the original alot more.

Hex didn't need a remaster, at least artistically. If anything needed remastering, it was the vocals.

The only difference is that Hex’s animations are more smooth and his arms are more thick, I prefer the original since it feels more like it’s not a mod because it has an FNF style.
