    I’m a little leery about the bar ends you have to turn your head more away from your focus and still have to move your arm or hand to even see out there better is even worse that’s just my opinion. Dropping 5 bills on something that’s dual purpose and more safe I think it’s worth it. Thanks for sharing all your doing with your bike.

      Thanks for sharing your perspective mate! That is true though about the safety...but to actually see out the stealths, you have to move your arm out of the way to see, so I feel like there is time lost where you look away from what's in front of you either way :/

    i have the rizoma stealth mirrors on my 2022 RSV4 and im very happy i installed them. Not gonna lie, its a bit difficult seeing out of them, but they still work. its enough for me to see whats behind me. you'll get used to it. they also dont vibrate at all, even at high speeds (150+ mph). the overall look of the mirrors is 100% worth it imo

    Don't know if it is entirely possible, but I believe the stock mirror mounting points are mounted directly on the front fairing, just some plastic. Vibrations will travel well through just plastic. I have an idea to mount some sort of bracket between the mirrors and the dashboard to add some strength. Might even be possible to connect both mirrors together via some milled aluminum part.

    • @SK_XIII
      @SK_XIII  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was looking at the attachment points the other day and thought about reinforcing it somehow too. Going to try and see if someone has done that before, thanks for the sharing!

    I had the exact same reaction to the stock mirrors when I put the first miles on my RS660. There were times where I couldn’t tell the difference between a guy in a red aerostich suit and the other guy on a red bike behind me. 😂 I could make out a headlight, but that was about it.
    While the Rizoma stealth mirrors look cool, it sounds like the functionality is limited. If a track lets you keep them on, you’ll likely still have to tape them up, so (if you wreck) there isn’t glass on the track.
    I have CRG lanesplitters on my XSR900, but that has a different engine (triple, i.e. less vibration) and wider handlebars (even with Woodcraft clip-ons). I fear that with the mildly more aggressive ergonomics on the RS660, bar end mirrors would require you look downward more and likely give you an obstructed view (of your elbow). While a few of the previous commenters recommended bar-end mirrors, I don’t recall seeing much confirmation that they would reduce the vibration.

    • @SK_XIII
      @SK_XIII  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing your experience, thats helpful! The XSR900 triple sound....oooof beautiful. Did you end up keeping your stock mirrors then on your RS? Or just did a mirror delete?

      I’ve only had the RS660 for a couple of months now, but haven’t had much opportunity to ride (PNW winters and all). Still have stock mirrors for the time being, but, like you, still looking for a more functional alternative.

    Nice video and thoughts. The stealth are useless if you don’t want to be a contortionist to see behind. Plus, the reason why street bikes that are tracked have mirrors removed or taped is purely for safety (broken glass is not something you want on a track). Plus when on track the only time you’d look behind is if you are slowing down. Which you can still do without mirrors. Keep up the great work. 👍😎

      They are useless. If you’re a person who constantly needs attention, gratification and thinks they are VR46 on the streets then they’d be perfect. For normal, rational, mature riders then give them a miss. Not sure why America has the turn signals in the mirrors as the ones sold in Australia don’t and as a result they don’t get blurry due to the additional weight. Perhaps swap them for the Euro/Australian spec ones instead.

    @Spitfiya.rs660 ปีที่แล้ว

    SKXIII, what’s up bro how have you been? All right so let’s get to it…
    I’m back on here again to give you my two cents as usual and what I feel that I would do and you could take it with a grain of salt. So first off the Razoma stealth mirrors, they are sleek, badass looking and serve the purpose at the track like you already stated to turn them down and create a bit of down force on the wind to help keep the front down a little bit from what I understand but not much to even matter on the street. On the negative side that they’re very expensive as you previously stated and they are very tiny. I’ve looked out of them on Aprilia‘s before and you can barely see past your arm. You have to look at that little opening underneath your arm and it minimizes the area so you can’t really see that much behind you to even be a factor. I know you’re gonna get a lot of comments like why do you need mirrors? Just do a head check I get it but when you’re casual driving through the cities and stuff, you really should be utilizing your mirrors so your face can stay forward and pay attention on something in front of you to have less chance of rear ending somebody or getting hit from the front but besides that me personally, I’ve done some research myself so I am going with the bar end CRG arrow mirrors which you can put them in multiple positions, possibly 4-5 positions so I’m probably gonna play around with that part. They can stick straight out from the end they can go pointed straight up to the sky. They can be raised up, but pointed outward, and of course, in the down position which I’m probably not gonna use. I’m feeling very strongly that they’re not gonna vibrate near as much as the stock mirrors. As far as the block offs, I know LightTech makes a block off, but it’s in cursive writing which conflicts with the Aprilia logo on the front of your bike if you still have that on there whether that matters to you or not, but there are other block off options so I’m sure that’s a simple decision for you to just choose but I’m going with the blinker lights block offs because I didn’t get the T800 upmap so I get your point about having blinkers already, so just go with the standard block offs find a color or style that you like I would go with the CRG bar and mirrors that keep people do talk highly about and whether you keep one mirror or both mirrors me personally, I don’t have a lever guard I think that’s primarily for racing and looks but what’s most important to me is the mirror and being able to see past me or anybody that’s coming up from behind me in a quick glance you almost don’t even have to turn your head. So my bike is in the shop right now getting all mods put on it. I’m getting a new solo seat (which keeps the winglets and has a RS logo on it…Bad Ass. You already know I have Evo tech frame, sliders, front/rear axle sliders, rear spools. I’m getting new grips that are red and black and I’m getting a dark smoke Puig windshield instead of the clear, so I think these upgrades will look fantastic and possibly the final decision on a mod that will end that package will be carbon fiber swing arms installed that I think would look really nice but that’s enough about me. I know you got decisions to make hopefully make the right one that suits you best. Ride strong brother be safe, talk soon🔥🔥💥💥💪🏼💪🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
