We did so good this fall salmon season. 20 plus bites a day. 7 trips to the umpqua. 100 fish landed. Insanely good salmon bite this year.

I fly fish almost exclusively, but scent works for damn sure. I squashed salmon egg juice on egg flies and the scented flies worked way better for steelhead

I use to use proline. This too is water based like procure but procure lasts longer. After 4 to 6 casts using proline i had to keep reapplying. With procure i can cast a 12 times or Alittle more before having to reapplying. Put a good amount to get a strong scent and a moderate slow retrieve and let procure do the rest. Yes occasionally do a 1/2 reel crank 1 second pause or pull rod tip slightly towards you. Pause 1 second and either pull rod tip towards you an 1" or 2 or use a 1/2 reel crank 1 second pause. Either 1 you use pause 1 second repeat 3 to 5 times 😊. Works very well. Fish bites gently pop rod tip. Fish will think forage is trying to get away an bite harder. Sometimes if youre not sure if your snagged or its a fish pop rod tip. Sometimes you can tell by keeping in tune to feel when you feel gentle ticks on your rod or keep line lightly pinched between thumb and index finger. This further helps feel ticks on the line. You feel tick when always keeping thumb and index finger gently grabbing line even when you retrieve. Important to pinch gently with thumb and index to feel the ticks. 😊
Procure is my go to to use. I use, trophy bass and nightcrawler and blood worm. If fish are 20 ft away itll draw them in. I bought gizzard shad scent and crappie cocktail ill try in spots where the crappie are. The trophy bass has helped me bag nice largemouth and nice smallies. Nightcrawler helped me land nice catfish this attractant is epic ❤😊

Last year my salmon was white meat this years was beautiful pink same species too both fish had rear dorsal so maybe color of the meat is difference between wild and hatchery here wish I could insert my 20Lb’er here and don’t know if I can send you guys email of that one I git from a foul hook and same day had from fast flowing river full chromer break my 14Lb leader in half! That was bigger than the 20 hell of a trip lost 4 good fish 2 while going in to land them and 2 going crazy at shore before I could get close enough to land them

Two things that I noticed in this video.
1: I know that you love your dog ... That said you're playing Russian roulette baby. The first time that dog gets a mouth full of salmon blood will probably be it's last!
Watching your beloved pet die from salmon blood poisoning is just as horrific as if that animal had gotten into anti freeze. There ain't a damn thing that you can do except take that animal to the vet and end it's suffering.
I sincerely hope that never happens to your dog.
2: your smoked salmon is more of a kipper recipe which is ok.
I like a lot more color on my fish. I use a dry brine and I too like a sweet n savory.
I think everyone has their own recipe... That said ... I wouldn't mind doing a smoke off ... I think that would awesome!😊💯💞
