well if it wasn't a flop then why didn't universal extend the deadline? especially after seeing how buggy the game was at release and problems with accidentally replaying levels, why not extend the deadline for just like 5 weeks to get most of these problems out of the way.
I played the game for the first time in the spring of 2006. I still vividly remember coming home from elementary school and my mother said that the "CD man" told her that there was a new Crash Bandicoot game (I spent my childhood in a small village in Hungary, where only pirated CDs arrived, and the "CD man" who sold them worked full-time at a place called Videoteka, where you could rent DVD discs and VHS tapes of various films in the days before the Internet). What I immediately liked about the game is that it goes back to the roots of the first episode and opens with the island of Wumpa. Unfortunately, I didn't speak English at all at the time, so I couldn't get past the mine (after Cortex grabbed the crystal, I didn't know what to do with the ants' drilling machine, I just mindlessly spun out mutant ants with laser swords that came out of nowhere). After 1 year, my cousin also got Twinsanity and since his father was also a big gamer (and spoke English), they showed me how to close all the portals on the machine. Since my CD was completely scratched by then (and the PS2's "red screen of death" still gives me nightmares), I didn't dare to put my own disc into the PS2 anymore, but borrowed my cousin's instead. He gave it here for 1 week and I defeated the evil twins on the seventh day. Since I didn't have much time, I looked at the concept art in the menu and caught my eye on a drawing where Crash climbs onto Cortex's back and flies together on the hoverboard while the enemy is chasing them. At first I thought it was some kind of bonus level that could be unlocked by getting all the gems in the game. Anyway, I took the CD back to my cousin and it remained a secret for me for a while. Until Christmas 2007, when it was my (and at the same time my whole family's) gift that we were finally connected to the Internet. One of the first TH-cam videos I ever watched was when I typed "Crash Twinsanity all gems 100 percent extra" into the search bar. I was disappointed to find that it was just a very lame Sigmund Freud-ish therapy gag between Crash and Cortex (plus, 240p was the best quality at the time the video was uploaded). This was my nostalgic story with the game :) Anyway, kudos to all the developers for working on it and finally creating it :)
Great video, dude! Man, I remember wanting Twinsanity so badly when it came out. Since Wrath of Cortex was my jump into the series and Nitro Kart was the inevitable kart racer, then Twinsanity has long been my favorite of the series. While none of the future games matched its uniqueness, there was a lot of stuff I never realized was gone. There hasn't been a year where I didn't revisit the game (or Toy Story 2) just to find new ways to beat old levels. I hope one day we get all the prototypes to fully realize this game... or some crazy fools do a fan-remake Twinsanity since Activision won't do it. I wanted like it more but I fucking loathed the soundtrack, i'm sorry but Acapella music sounds horrendously out of place in a platforming game like Crash.

The beta version of BRD OST was at one time Gone A Bit Coco too, just in a different point of time. Don't remember which one was first, but yeah, both levels had this OST.
That track for the cortex fight sounds like it was inspired by some of the first Devil May Cry tracks. Minus the heavy speedy drum like beat in the front, it sounds uncanny.
We’ve got to have this be the best Crash game so far. What to do? Oh I know, let’s put pressure on a company who’s had no experience with our franchise to rush a game out for the holiday season. Surely it’ll end up a completely polished game with no bugs or glitches whatsoever. Seriously, the whole “need it out by the holiday season” bs is why we get diamonds in the rough like this game, but this can also make things turn into dumpster fires. And companies STILL do this today. Why does the idea of being patient and waiting for a miracle of a game so dumb to video game companies? You’d think releasing a game with no faults and plenty of time to iron out any bugs would lead to more profit than a bug fest of a game would.
Hey uhhh i have this lost media request from an other spongebob commercial that i've seen on youtube from years ago (probably 2010 or 2011), it was an commercial from an off brand play doh with spongebob on it, it showed clips from episodes, a clay spongebob in stop motion (probably animated in cgi) with an ocean background. I tried searching it up but i realize that it's gone and no screenshots of it can't be seen on google
I used to love this game, but after hearing that Universal not letting them delay and rushing this game only makes me like it (A nd not as much as I wanted to, but obviously not the devs' fault) and obviously because the devs didn't get the game how they wanted it to be because of greedy higher ups and all the wasted potential. This game could've been perfect and maybe take Cortex Strikes Back's throne if this game got the polish and time it deserve to be finished and to redeem the Crash series from Wrath of Cortex and Nitro Kart's both having too many downgrades or just too similar to Naughty Dog's efforts on the PS1. Don't get me wrong the game still managed to be good, it's just Universal sabotaging the vision as well as other crimes they committed with both Crash and Spyro really do made me realize that there still is bad companies even before Activison, Blizzard, 2K, Square Enix, Sega, Capcom, Bamco and especially EA's downfall and many others to greed with shit like DLC even before on launch, microtransactions, release now fix/add it later (*looks at Nintendo's Mario Sports Switch games*) and making more dumb decisions like anti-consumer shit.
There is one level no one talks about you can find screens in it in the gem sections its called Dragon Alley or Valley was it ??? Idk Dragon Something I think there is 2 or 1 screen for it in the game
Twinsanity is a game that on paper should have been great, but deadlines resulted in it being rushed and becoming a schizophrenic mess. Didn’t help that they didn’t make a GameCube/PC port thus losing out on this market.
It sucks this game is so maligned, I've recently replayed this and the first 3 games and enjoyed Twinsanity much more than the first 3. I still want to play 4 but haven't yet
I really haye how publishers ruining great ideas to release a game out during Christmas. It makes me suspicious of every game being released around Christmas if it is going to be a forcibly rushed job.
From what I get from a quote with from one of the developers is they were given plenty of time and suffered from internal conflicts and a lack of cohesive ideas. They kept putting new ideas without refining the old up to almost the deadline they were given and told was a concrete deadline. Demonizing the publishers for this is dumb. Take this example say a teacher assigns an end of semester paper, giving a strict deadline. The student keeps scrapping and adding things to their paper without ever settling on a cohesive paper and turns in a rushed paper. It is silly for people to then criticize the teacher for having a strict deadline instead of the student who would or couldn't settle on and build off of his ideas.

Great video as always, dude
The scene of the Mecha Bandicoot was intended to lead to a whole level with it going on a rampage through the island.
Woah woah woah woah
Twinsanity is my favorite game besides Cortex Strikes back and and Wrath of cortex
I wanted like it more but I fucking loathed the soundtrack, i'm sorry but Acapella music sounds horrendously out of place in a platforming game like Crash.
@@jadedheartsz wow, I disagree so much with that. The soundtrack is probably what got me in love with that game. Since I was an og fan from the playstation days.
@@atomickid to each their own but I personally found it to be like nails on a chalkboard.
What i find so weird is that gone a bit coco apparently made it pretty far in development but we have (or technically very little) no footage of the level nor do we have earlier build of twinsanity with the level in it.
anndd im just thinking of what was the actual level like..
Who voiced Cortex at the beginning? Because holy cow they nailed Lex Lang's voice
It was him indeed, just audio for the initial Crash title.
21:04 scared the fucking shit out of me and for that you earned a subscriber but for real it scared me so bad
People have been complaining about the jumpscare recently. I thought it was funny at first...and I also didn't think very many people would see this. Sorry if I scared anyone lol- XD
@@TheMrBonesShow it didn’t bother me as much I found it really funny but I get why some would not like it
Despite everything it turned into one of my favourite games of all time.
actully its cool to see the journy of people efforts of making game like this , honstly when i played it back then it was new crash game concept for me like i used to play in levels and warp room(like og bandicoot 123..) but this one it opened its world to it like its ... it got somthing speical but i guess they got tight timing ,otherwise they would be having a big games like their own twinsanity trolgy or somthing like that... but i guess that's diffrent universe and timeline lol
29:20
this sounds like oingo boingo stuff to me lol
The beta version of BRD OST was at one time Gone A Bit Coco too, just in a different point of time. Don't remember which one was first, but yeah, both levels had this OST.
That track for the cortex fight sounds like it was inspired by some of the first Devil May Cry tracks. Minus the heavy speedy drum like beat in the front, it sounds uncanny.
cool obnoxious jumpscare dude
Eh if incredibly cartoony franchises like Ratchet, Sonic, and Paper Mario can tackle dark scenarios, dont see why Crash can't.
34:30 THIS SHIT SLAPS LIKE DAMN !!!!
Great video. Only thing is the audio levels are way off between different sections.
This sounds like a tekken song 34:10
Awesome!
21:05 JUMPSCARE WARNING
Great video
How haven't I seen this yet?
I wish we got a remake😊
Twinsanity AND Unlimited Are Good Names.
There is one level no one talks about you can find screens in it in the gem sections its called Dragon Alley or Valley was it ??? Idk Dragon Something I think there is 2 or 1 screen for it in the game
Why am I watching this I'm getting pissed off
Nice video
Twinsanity is a game that on paper should have been great, but deadlines resulted in it being rushed and becoming a schizophrenic mess.
Didn’t help that they didn’t make a GameCube/PC port thus losing out on this market.
Crash Twinsanity Takes Place Before Crash Nitro Kart.
eyy LS cameo
It sucks this game is so maligned, I've recently replayed this and the first 3 games and enjoyed Twinsanity much more than the first 3. I still want to play 4 but haven't yet
Someone should try to form a group to maybe finnish the game and bring back all the scrap content
It is silly for people to then criticize the teacher for having a strict deadline instead of the student who would or couldn't settle on and build off of his ideas.
my favorite game btw
chief I'm loving the video and your coverage of twinsanity is really well thought out
also please do not include a single ear rape gag in a 40 minute video that is mostly quiet with no warning whatsoever.
see this is why I don't have pets.
I think I commented on my old channel but it's been a while and I have no idea what to say. I like crash banooka the animaniac

1:43 It IS The Best Crash Game.
Better Than The Boring PS1 Games.
Better Than The Shitty PS4 Games which look nothing like crash.

good video besides the ear rape, its not 2017 anymore
and pointless insulting Crash of the Titans
Psp game
Can we raise money for the devs to make the actual twinsanity they wanted to?
Go keep urself safe, crash of the titans is good >:(
🗑️
@@Motivation_Editz07Only because they change gameplay and made new designs? it doesn't make game bad to be honest.
Crash of the Titans is pretty good and fun to play especially with someone else.
@@ehhicotuzrobic8271 if it wasn't crash it was good
But you can't make crash like that
That didn't even look like a Crash game
@@Motivation_Editz07Titans was completed, Twinsanity wasn't. Spent most of the time looking for pointless gems. Twinsanity fans spend most of the time daydreaming about the cut stuff instead of enjoying the game because it's not that good.
